Washington State AGO Investigation into the Mogul

As I have posted in another thread, I submitted complaints to both the Washington State and Viginia State Attorny Generals Offices regarding the Mogul, and Sprint's failure to deliver on advertised functionality, and rectify the situation in a fair manner.

Well....it has gotten some attention.

I was contacted by the WA State AGO. They informed me that they have reviewed my complaint, validated it, and are now investigating Sprint's business practices as they pertain to the Mogul. They said that they can't guarantee that anything will happen, but they are concerned enough to investigate. I suspect they are investigate other false advertisment claims against Sprint by other peeps.

WOOT! I was beginning to think that I was maybe giving Sprint too hard of a time and I was being unfair about the Mogul's shitty track record. But apparently I'm not. The government thinks it might be BS too...

I'm not looking for free service, free phones, or anything like that. I'm looking for accountability.

I'll keep you all updated.

You should have went with the Alltel version!

But seriously, good for you. I know many have the Sprint PPC6800 and Sprint owes it to the consumers whom have shelled out the hard cash to make the PPC6800 operate the way it was advertised and designed to. It is such a capable device.

Good luck!

What is the functionality it's missing? I'm new to the Mogul scene and have no idea why you have your panties in a twist

I have never seen a phone/PDA with so much love and hate.

Some people say theres works fine, no problems for the most part. Other people say it doesn't even ring when people call, and it's constantly freezing...

I really hope when my comes it works good..

If you're "...new to the Mogul scene and have no idea...", why the need for a snarky comment from a noob?!?

If you had spent any time at all reading, you'd know the Mogul has reliability issues (freezing while roaming) and BT audio quality issues.

It wasn't meant to be snarky, it's just that there was no clarification given as to what functionality was missing from the Mogul. I've read a lot about the BT issues but I haven't used it yet so I didn't realize what I was missing out on.

BEEFS BITCHES GRIPES AND COMPLAINTS!! I personally was told I'd have Sprint TV-radio, even signed up for the service and what do i get? well Sirius radio's mobile version works darn well, however Sprint radio not so much. i was fooled into believing Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional was new, turns out it should have been called 5.1, EV-DO Rev A.? theres a ghost! the claims of GPS are also haunting me. now I'm not saying that the Mogul is a bad peace of technology, but there were a lot of claims that were not delivered upon. over all i am happy with mine and would not trade it for any thing else Sprint has ( I might trade for a Touch since I dont use the WIFI) but I do think they should be accountable for the things they tell us, and the promises they make.

You guys just seem like cry babies to me.

The mogul is the best pocket pc phone i have ever owned, and now I can't see myself without it.

I don't have blue tooth issues

I don't have roaming lockups

It just works for ME. So if it works for me seeing that I abuse the hell out of it and have all the latest beta software installed, it should for you.

Sure windows mobile sucks, but what's the alternative? PALM? a joke. the iPHONE? a pretty useless toy.

We are lucky we get any firmware updates at all. I remember back in the day...firmware updates? ha ha yeah right. you'd be better off replacing your phone with a new model.

Yes I am a phone whore. yes I get a new phone every few months. yes I always go for the latest and greatest. And it just so happens that this phone is the one that is going to be with me for quite some time (until the tilt comes out on sprint :P) no matter what bugs it has. it WORKS for ME. I use this phone all day long with palm sms threaded messaging, ae buttons mapped from a-z, VNC in and out of my home network constantly.

I even carry a spare battery in my wallet. It's my home away from home. GPS and REVa are just some things to look forward to.

PATIENCE IS KEY.

now stop crying, put the panties back on and get a life. Realize it's a phone, its made by people, who aren't perfect, and have a million things to do at once. Theres no magical "super phone" out there that's bug free just yet.

Hell, if I can live with this phone, being the Chief Executive Officer of a company, who uses this thing non stop, anyone can. We aren't called early adopters for nothin' you know.

I just picked up my Mogul. Aside from it missing the latest rev edvo and the gps it works fully as advertised. I did the reading and knew going in that the Mogul is not a device for the average user. It is a device that is highly tweakable. The Touch is more for the "easy out of the box" user. Windows phones are all like this. This coming month brings an amazing rom update. Along with Sprint being the only wireless provider that can realy claim broadband quality service without the insane data charges AND true free use of my Mogul with my plan I cant see a downfall. The phone runs great, and with the latest ROM its stability is flawless so far.

You are fortunate. Your usage pattern does not stumble across the bugs. Unfortunatly mine does. I had to disable bluetooth, which I dont really like, but I can at least live with. Still,I paid for a phone with bluetooth. In sprints defense, they fixed that, somewhat. I understand that some people have stability issues. I personally do not. What I have is overheating issues on long phone calls when on the charger or when sharing the internet connection. If I true to use WiFi and the phone, its really bad,but even with a shared connection over USB it happens unless I take the back off the phone and open the keyboard. This may well be the cause of the lock ups as well. At first,I didnt really realize the reason it would stop charging (which is my main sympton of the overheating). I suspect that many people may be overheating and locking up,and not be making the connction to the heat.
