1.) Ibstall hard-spl (stickied)
2.) Download the 1.40 radio only from ppcgeeks ftp
3.) Extract .nbh and use Rom Upgrade Utility to flash

well i don't know if it is me or it is a problem, well i flashed like everyonelse and i noticed the big difference in speed and performance right after the hard reset i was actually vey amazed by it, considering the mogul was snappy as it is ,but i felt the difference just like alot of other ppl, then i started downloading the same software that i used to have , then i felt that the cellphone is actually feeling heavier and more sluggish,it is just weird it is either fast and resposive or completely STUCK ,it does not really freeze but get stuck loading some application, and then starts shutting down applications as a final attempt to save itself from a total system collapse,am i making any sense here?!

i just feel that they traded the stability to more aggressive memory managment?!!!

quick question, didn't mean to stray from the threads topic. will the above leave my 2.17 intact and data and programs while just changing just the radio from 1.47.01 to 1.40? thx!

When I change it to Roaming only and hit OK, then wait for it to go into to 1X mode (no tower icon, btw), then go back to change it to Automatic, I can't get to the Services tab (i.e. screen is semi-frozen). The only thing I can do is tap the OK button from the phone tab and wait 30 seconds for the tap to register. After that, everything is fine until I try to go back to Phone -> Services. I'm almost positive it's the 1.47.01 ROM. Man, this stinks!

Flashing to the 1.40 radio will effectively return your phone to the state after a "hard reset"

Did you hard reset after downloading? Skip Customization or not? Have the am/pm set correctly? Had the correct day of the week set? Just asking, mine woke me up just fine. I did the hard reset and skipped the customization.

To everyone having phone issues with the new rom, Make sure to reflash radio version 1.40 and that should take care of it. Programs and settings will not remain in place when flashing radio after the new 2.17 rom as the phone performs a hard reset after the flash.

If I install the 1.40 radio, can I restore from backup without overwriting it?
