Not that it was slow before at all, but I have also noticed data speeds to be significantly faster now. I am getting 600-900kbps results on dslreports.com/mspeed, whereas before I was never, ever over 300 or 400. Simple browsing also seems a TON faster. I am liking it. It is now quicker than browsing with the old ROM even on wi-fi.

Noticed the same problem with the radio as the 2.16 ROM....
Forced roam to see if the triangle was still up there. Just hung on looking for signal, phone seemed to stall, had to soft reset. Upon reset, switched it back to automatic and came in the office. Went to wake up my phone and it was in a deep sleep, would not wake up, green light still flashing. I can't believe HTC can't get this right, this is getting VERY frustrating now, and Sprint just needs to recall this damn phone already...its a complete mess now. |

i keep getting "an unhandled error has occured in the shell. attempting to restart the shell." this only seems to happen when i try to close out of Start>Programs. i'm thinking this is button-x related. i installed ver 1.51 of that and the other plugins i installed are the threaded sms, MMS hack, battery and performance.... and i believe that's it for now.
edit: i uninstalled x-button and it stopped crashing. i like that program though, hopefully i can get it working Last edited by belvedere; 11-29-2007 at 06:38 PM. |

Can anyone else confirm the radio problem? I have not seen any reports here or elsewhere that can vouch for the claim (not that I think the reports aren't real, just not widespread).
Either way, I've been happy with the 2.16/1.40 combination, and frankly I agree with the position that ImCoKeMaN holds-- if your radio works, leave it alone. I think this weekend I will use his OS-only 2.17 update and keep my 1.40 radio until the EVDO Rev. A and GPS update is ready unless I see some consistent confirmation that 1.47 is stable.

Not really a good option.
But, yea, I'm still having the same issues as well. I was hoping that they would have fixed this in this version - but I guess that was too much to ask for. Just so we are clear as to what I'm talking about. I'm using MSVC 1.6. When I initiate a voice command using my bluetooth headset and I give a Phone command, e.g. "Call CWasko at work", it then responds with the confirmation "Call CWasko at work?" - then, regardless of what I say, 'Yes' or 'Correct', it will not confirm and thus will not execute the phone call. |
