Can we set up an early poll to see if this rom is good for "the rest of us"?

I second that

i just got wm5 where i want it to be, but i miss my precious free tethering, and i hate pdanet to death, i get weird disconnection issues which usually result in me restarting my pc (thank god for trial versions!)

I just got a new laptop and i new meh online game'n. Is the memory leak still in effect, whats the average ram after running the phone about an hour or two

I had tethering working just fine this morning using the reg edit. Are you using the method shown by Luv2Chill's thread #35?

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9418&page=4

The memory leak is still happening but comes back after closing apps and running oxios. I believe I read on the other thread.

So far memory seems to be freed nicely as long as applications are exited.

If I make sure things get closed/exited, I hover consistently around 20MB free, where before after similar usage I'd go down as low as 9MB (before a freeze). I haven't had to use Oxios at all, which is great. It seems this memory issue may have slowed down a lot of things, since the net is faster, closing/opening programs is faster, and just when you expect a freeze up it keeps chuggin'.

However, people have reported free memory still leaking away after hours of non-use.

Having some issues with the HTC dialer. My phone goes from "Connecting" to "Call Ended" right away and a soft reset doesn't fix it. This happens after some use, not directly after installation. I uninstalled the HTC Dialer and it's working fine again. anyone else experience this?

Thumbs up

Well, been running 2.17 for approx 27 hours now and I let it load the srint crap and the only thing I have noticed is the audio is slightly lower but not enough to care. I am running it with custimazations and Xbutton, Sprint Cube, Quick Launcher, TouchFlo, S2U2, iGO, Big Button Dialer, CodyPPC Perf Cab, Flashlite 2.1, HTC Camera Album, HTC AudioPlayer, SprintTV, FlexMail 2007, GoogleMaps, OxiosMemory, PocketCM .15, TCPMP Player, and Total Commander. With all of this installed my free memory at 11pm last night was 17.1 and at 25 hours later with no reboots it is 16.9 and I figure that tiny bit is from running the iGo and inputing new addresses. I run my Holux M1200 and my HT820 Headset both at once and have had no issues at all. People can hear me clearly and same in reverse. I live in an area that my house was switching from spint to roam all the time and with the new radio it only goes into roam when I get near my TV or my Desktop. Other than that no problems. I called my phone every 30 min for a couple hours with it on and off the charger in sleep mode and not and every call and every text made it through. So my opinion is this rom is fantastic. Batterylife is greatly improved but for me that means it lasts 5 hours instead of 3 due to the constant GPS usage and most of my business being done over the phone. I think it would benefit everyone to upgrade to this rom. And I can't wait for someone to cook up something custom with this as there base.

i've seen several complaints about volume, and i found that weird, since after using the rom all day, i thought the rom was LOUDER than the previous ones, and the audio on my Motorola H700 headset was almost TOO loud. i did NOT let the customizations run. i haven't had any texting issues, and I haven't had to reboot it once i got it setup the way i liked. so i mean, so far so good. bluetooth works fantastically, and i can actually see myself using it, sounds good, the connection remains active, even when i turn off my headset or keep it on.

Has anyone had some issues with the new ROM where the phone will lose the signal all together for a short period of time. Mine just did twice, the 2nd time it locked up 100%.
