Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul

After going through this tutorial and doing all, I still cannot connect to the internet using tethering on either of my machines (XP and Vista). Furthermore, now ActiveSync no longer works when connecting my Mogul to my XP machine.

The information about creating a new network connection on the PC makes no sense. In Vista, the default for a "dialup connection" is COM3, which is not the USB port. What is the point of creating this on the PC?

How do I get ActiveSync to work with this "fix" installed?

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul

this program is awesome; kudos to the creator

directions were flawless -- though it works a little better than internet sharing, it is not as easy to install (requires creation of the connection on the pc) nor is it as intuitive to use (internet sharing just requires clicking on the phone and you are done).

is there anyway to make wmodem one of the options on the phone when you plug it in to the pc (using htc diamond) -- currently options are
active sync, disk drive, internet sharing -- can i make the third option open wmodem instead of internet sharing?

What is the benefit of doing this vs just using the built in Internet Connection Sharing application on the phone?

I'm Crossing my fingers it's gonna work with 6.1 and the latest rom sprint flashed to my phone the other day cause I really need this tho run unattended or its back to the Sanyo MM7400 for me

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul

When I am at step 2 where I input my msl.... instead of a screen with EDIT option, I have Screen with text "EPST" at top left and device is asking for my unlock code(msl ?) should I just run nuespl2.47 to unlock or is this as monty Python would say "completely different"!?
UPDATE... Unlocked using oilpro 2.7 via original fat32 sd format method...getspc did not seem to give me the right msl...Using a downgrade guide(as im now going to try ElectronicRiceROM) I see this EPST(dont know what it stands for) is in the windows folder and contains info like phone manufacture date runtime and a host of other info's... As I remember from my old sanyo msl(msid?) ashould look like a phone # and this does so I will try to plug into lock screen and report back...

oops 6 digit msl I guess... dont think I used all caps will try again...

Dont use getspc 2003 use the Other one for current sprint roms... it will give you the Right MSl on to step 3 whew(still havent had to downgrade via ppckitchen)
