This is the radio file I used:
ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....1.40_radio.rar

Use your current RUU to flash. The RUU one I used hard reset my phone though so be careful.

By flashing only the radio portion of the ROM.
Check out my sticky guide on custom rom flashing. You can find a rom file containing only the 1.40 radio code in dcd's folder

I have done extensive testing of different configs to root this issue out, and I feel comfortable saying that this is definitely a radio issue. Flashing back to 1.40 has solved all repeatable issues for me, and I have not had a lockup in the 3 hours since performing the downgrade, whereas it happened to me when the new radio (1.47) would switch in and out of EVDO (I work in a fringe area, so it is easy for me to test). This issue always presented itself, without fail, when my Mogul powered itself down after 5 minutes of non-use while plugged in. I would watch the signal switch (through the dimmed screen) once or twice before it happened.

While there may be some other compatibility issues with 3rd party apps and this rom, I can assure you that the problem happened for me with nothing at all on the machine other than the new rom.

And as a side note to Sprint and HTC: Get your shit together.

Im in a similar situation. At home there is sparse EVDO coverage. I have been having numerous lock ups here. The sound on my phone is also getting messed up, and I believe that this is leading to the lock up in my case. For instance, a few times when I slid the keyboard down, the keyboard switching sound attempted to play, the speaker made clicking sound and continued to emit quiet hum. I could not get the phone to play any sound from this point. With in a minute or so the phone is completely locked up.... This really sucks.

I extracted the new ROMs RUU file and replaced the signed.nbh with the Radio1.4 above. But it wont go through with the update.

Any ideas?

Programs:
Microsoft Live Search
Telenav for Windows Mobile (which dosent work anymore, btw)

Nilisco Flashlight
BlueFrog Big Button Dialer
HTC Home
Google Maps
After quite a bit of playing around this morning, the lock-up problem is quite simple. It has to do with the handling of entering/leaving roaming. I did a hard reset and an RTN (wipes programming info) and allowed it to do the Sprint customizations. With nothing installed and BT disabled, I can simply go into my Phone app, and toggle the Roaming setting between Sprint, Automatic and Roaming and after a few times the phone will lock up. It usually only takes 1-3 changes. Make the change and then click Ok twice (to get back to the phone app).

I have given this info to both Sprint and HTC (tickets opened by both companies) so hopefully they can get it fixed.

For now I have locked my phone to Sprint Only.

Thanks for the update - I'll try the 1.4 radio. Like you, my DSOD's (3 in 4 hours) occured with ZERO apps installed (and BT turned off, and no phone calls). So, nothing more than a clean vanilla ROM. Unusable for me.

Oh ... and AMEN to your side note. I said basically the same thing on BAW this morning after I had to downgrade to the 'music store with broken keyboard' ROM. If the 1.4 radio doesn't work for me, I'll try the Alltel ROM's this weekend.

So I can definetly reproduce the lock up by switching between roaming and sprint only. I was checking what network my phone was landing on when switching networks, and my phone landed on SID 15904 NID 39680.

Does anyone have any info on that SID? I cant seem to find anything.

Also, when roaming, I no longer get a roaming icon or a Triangle.

Something is very messed up here. Could this simply be the PRL?
