i mean "i search"
The file for "HTC Quietly Brilliant" is a manila. I'm attaching the zip file for it here. Unzip it and copy it to the windows folder on your phone and soft reset.

I don't know how to make .cabs yet or I'd send it along that way. Perhaps someone else will.
how i do that? sorry it might a dumb question but im a noob how i unzip it? how i copy to the window folder?

Re: Not an official forum without Home Screens!

Hey Max (if I may call you that), I loved the look of this screen the first time I saw it. Do you remember where you got the clock? Since I changed my slider to match the one you have here, I can see that I'll need to change my clock too.

Thanks.

Re: Not an official forum without Home Screens!

Help... need to pick some brains again. I've been tinkering with icons using CFC GUI Editor and having great results. I've run across the "Lock Screen" background and tried to change it to another color using the same techniques that have been working all along.... with no results. The screen refuses to change. The file for it, by the way, is "63c77e93_manila".

I think I see the problem. That particular manila is set to "read only" in the Windows directory, as opposed to the other files I've been fooling with, and I can't seem to change the attribute. I'm using Total Commander by the way. I'm thinking that if I could change it from read only, then I'd be able to modify it.

Any thoughts?... Thanks. Jo

Very strange... I tried the move to the storage card (using TC) and I got a message that said that the file was already there (which it wasn't... I checked). It said the file size was 0 bytes so I tried to overwrite it and wasn't allowed.

I get the gist of what you're saying though. I must be missing some simple thing. Thanks for trying to help.

I'll keep trying.

Well, I tried a drag and drop from the windows folder to the storage card, on the PC, and got a fuller message, "Files in ROM cannot be moved"... makes sense I guess.

So I'm back to trying to figure out why I can't seem to overwrite that file with a new one (on the phone of course). I wouldn't think that just because a file is "read only" that it can't be replaced with another file of the same name.

I can copy the manila, tinker the .png, make the new manila... I just can't seem overwrite the orig one in windows.

Back to the drawing board.
