Re: Was I hallucinating?
I was checking out some other threads and noticed that in one thread there is a list of Tobey Chris cabs. One of those cabs is a "Disable Auto Device Lock" cab. I'm wondering if that didn't get incorporated into another cab for some app that we might have installed on our phones?
So far, that is the only rational reason that I can come up with for the lock issue. Jtsdtuedle, you mention that you did a hard reset and you posted the default values, but what you didn't say was whether or not the hard reset fixed the issue?? What I did was to reset the auto timeout for lock to 2 and the lock key to 1. Now, when I'm done and want to turn off the phone I hit the lock softkey. The screen dims in about 5 seconds and then turns off in two more seconds after dimming. Its not elegant but it works for now. BTW, my stylus sensor is working fine. If I pull the stylus while the phone is off it comes right on, I'm not seeing anything different or abnormal about how the stylus sensor is working. I believe this is a software issue. R |

Re: Was I hallucinating?
I've had those registry values all along and still do, but my phone still has the problem (not locking when the backlight turns off). As I mentioned in my earlier post, AutoDeviceLockEnable has been claimed to work for some people, but not all (including people other than just me) so I think there's something additional to be found.

Re: Was I hallucinating?
I also restored those registry values to default and it didn't work for me. That's why I went ahead and just started using the lock softkey and turned down the screen timeout values.
Seems to be getting stranger by the day! R |

EDIT: My lock is working correctly. I'm letting you know, as part of the control group that has Lock working normally. ![]() Last edited by Humpa; 10-24-2009 at 11:08 AM. |

Maybe I'll try removing CS and see if that changes anything. The next problem is that removing CS doesn't mean it would change back, it may have caused the lock issue but removing might not necessarily fix the issue. I might just remove it and then check the registry settings on the lock and manually put them back to defaults and see if that might work. R |

Re: Was I hallucinating?
I will guarantee you it's not Total Commander, I use it and don't have this issue. It is simply a File Manager/Registry Editor, has nothing to do with screen locking or anything close to that.
