JAVA for the Imagio, anyone?

Living in the mountains, it would be very helpful if I could load and run NOAA radar loops that require a JAVA Environment to my Imagio!

I have searched for such a thing without success, though I felt I might be getting close when I found
IBM WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment for Windows Mobile Standard MIDP 2.0

on Handango - 'cept that is says it isn't supported on the ppc and costs the same as a lovely Rioja or Zin! (you don't want to get between us and a great bottle of wine when bison is on the grill and fresh bread is rising - trust me)

Any suggestions or recommendations would really be welcome!

Re: JAVA for the Imagio, anyone?

Am I looking for the CLDC 1.0 plus the MIDP 2.0?

I'm out of my league (not to mention decade) here. . .

I came across news that
Myriad’s Jbed Java Software Selected by Sony Ericsson for XPERIA™ X2 Handset

Is your latest jbed from your link equivalent to the one mentioned in the article? I ask because it may well be the least risk. . .

Re: JAVA for the Imagio, anyone?

Hmm. I use the Opera browser, and it doesn't have a problem playing Flash animated maps - so there's workaround that's reasonable.

Re: JAVA for the Imagio, anyone?

I'm running the 20080912.5.1 version for SD card from that xda thread, but am about to try one of the later ones.

The main problem I've seen so far is that many J2ME apps assume you have left-middle-right buttons for menus or actions. Or even D-pad cursor keys. Alas, there's no such things on the Imagio.
