Re: Battery life darn short?!

What does the push internet do and how do you use it or why would you use it? I am just trying to figure out if i should use the cab that gets rid of it.

Also does the data connection always run and if so does that drain the battery as well. if you shut data connection off it turns back on when a process happens and does not shut off automaticly.

Re: Battery life darn short?!

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but...

Whenever you use internet or email, it automatically uses the internet and gets information.

If you use HDTweak, there's a setting which allows the phone to use data connection ONLY when needed. Otherwise it's off. But if you look at the signal strength bar and you see the 2 arrows? if it's grey, the data connection is off. White: on.

Hope this helped you.

Re: Battery life darn short?!

so if you us a cab that gets rid of the push internet it will not mess up anything?

For the data connection- if you use hdtweak then when the email syncs every 10min and the weather updates whenever it does the data connection will turn on and then shut off when it is done syncing or updating? Also will this save battery by not being on all the time?
Is there a cab for HDTWEAK?

Thanks for your help

I don't think the imagio has push internet. Or the tweak cabs I installed got rid of it an day 1. Here's a cab for hd tweaks and another to help with battery life by consolidating stuff and ridding other stuff. It helped my imagio alot and the dynamic cab frees up some memory. I take no credit, just passing them along.

so the HD Tweak will make it so the data connection will go on and off on its own?
I have the SKK-- does it just automaticly do its thing or do you have to change anything for that?

Yeah, I think there is a setting to adjust how long your data connection times out. Helpful I suppose for concerns about battery life.
There are lots of good tweaks in "hd tweaks", just install it and find it in programs. Some of the tweaks won't work as it is specific for alot of diff devices. Most are good tho. Check it out, all tweaks can be undone. I think the data can be set for a minute or whatever then when an email comes thru the timeout process starts over. Tweaks come with a nice "soft reset" icon you can put somewhere for future handy use.
SSK just needs to be installed. First thing I noticed was increased prog. memory.
I don't have any battery issues worth worrying about. My push email is on all day and I do what I need/want to do and my battery lasts all day. I even stream tv thru my 27" antique zenith sometimes for a couple hours at times.
I tried to set my data for a time out with hdtweaks and found it made little diff. so YMMV. I hear installing netcf35 helps alot also. Not sure how, but cooked roms always come with. It seems to make things run smoother and I think most oem roms need all the help they can get. Anyway my imagio is running great, no complaints big enough to speak of anyway.

Re: Battery life darn short?!

I have that one as well. I havent noticed that much improvement with the skk installed as far as memory at start up it went from 59 to 53 but it still climbs up everytime i open something and shuting it it does not make it go back down to 53.

As far as battery life i cant say that i have huge issues i usually have to charge every two days-being a new smartphone person i dont know if that is good or bad.

Thanks for all of the input, i would be lost without it. I still am looking for a cool taskbar (one that does not mess up anything) then i should be in good shape!

Re: Battery life darn short?!

Need your help. I just bought a new battery. the old one was awful!!!!! My new one has a name on it (PCD). the old was just plain black with no writting. I have noticed that this battery is 20 times better. My old one would get down to 30-38% and drop to dead in seconds. meaning i only got 70% total out of it. This new one was down to 24% the other day and i still used it for a couple of things (20 minutes more of use). So i love this battery. But should I run it down and then charge or keep it charged like that battery expert says. I will say this. My old one I kept charged all the time. But i don't know if thats why it wasn't good or if it was just junk from the beggining. What do you guys think or what do you guys do. I have never had good luck with battery life. It's 1:00pm now and I'm down to 50%. I use it for work(just phone calls) and have my e-mail checked every half hour. I have all the battery saving things done (CMDA only, Ect,ect). So i want to make this battery last and work good. what do you suggest on the charge thing?????

Re: Battery life darn short?!

I would say let it die then fully charge it. From my experience this seems to make the battery meter more accurate
