that not a good enough reason being too cheap? Was the phone really that bad to go back to the TP2?

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!

thanks for the feedback everyone... i still dont agree.. your right, when something is given, then taken away, people will complain (and should!)
i am not on the sero.. i have something much better.. the old free and clean 1700.. my nights are 3pm, incoming free, free roaming, free data, free roaming data, free text, free picture mail, mobile to mobile for 29 USD a month... im not complaining myself one bit.
i was writing on behalf of my little brother..
he was had the sero plan for 2 years.. and is very happy with it.. its just funny that the new hero cant be switched on it.. why... because they know that they can get people out of sero plans by doing so.. people want the phone more than their plan.. the fact that he can get the diamond, diamon2, touch, touch pro, touch pro2 and keep the plan.. well, he will be sending back the hero... no doubt about it...
im suprised you guys arnt worked up about it.. you seem so docile.
the thing that really burned me up, is they couldnt tell me why the hero cant work... advanced data plan my butt! more advanced then what is required for the touch pro 2? i there is ONE data plan.... its a matter of money not that the phone itself requires something special.. i just dont like being lied to.
im afraid that soon they will list ALL smart phones on the "unable to transfer" list... its just the palm pre, hero, instinct, and blackberries for now.. no problem..

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!

Technically it is possible to activate a Blackberry on a Sero plan. You have to change to Sero voice only and then add the Blackberry data plan; however, it would be a challenge to go back to the regular Sero plan if you decided you wanted to change from the Blackberry to something else.

I'm on a grandfathered plan too and plan to keep it as long as possible. Eventually Sprint will probably require more and more of their phones to be activated on one of their new plans but for now there are still enough compelling options available that I don't plan to switch.

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!

okay so i was elgiable for an upgrade on 12/1. I call customer service to do it early, and they said i have to wait till 12/1. I was angry and called the cancellation department and he reversed my elgiablity and so i can upgrade. He told me to do it at best buy so i wouldnt have to do the mail in rebate and said I can keep my $30 sero plan. He said all they have to do is call it in. He told me he did an upgrade a week back and kept that customers $30 sero plan and told me not to worry about it. So i just have to wait until I get the money to upgrade and see if they will upgrade my phone and keep the same plan.

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!

thanks for the posts.. again, this was in regards to my little brother... i am very happy/very content with my plan.. i am not complaining (i have been with them for over 10 years too)
but this htc hero business is just lamo.. again, he doesn't care not being able to keep the hero, he just called me matter of fact, on his new htc touch pro 2 phone, with the sero plan.. all is well! again, it is just the fact that it is a new, popular phone, and they know they can get people out of the sero plans by stating that the hero is not compatible (which is crap).. they know that we are materialistic, greedy little buggers... just wait, soon they will put in fine print, no smart phone allowed on sero plan...
your right siptang .. it is their service, their business.. they can do as they wish...
rockandroll

The amount of money you saved over those two years is a whole lot more than what you would have been spending on another carrier. New phones come out and have newer technology so they are more expensive for the company to carry. Im premier and on SERO 500 but im not gonna complain about getting a new plan to get the new cool phone. I have been with Sprint for over 12 years now and I dont mind they have been good with me and the plans are the best SERO or not.

pjrey im not talking about you im talking about people in general with SERO. I didnt want to sound rude.
Agreed... this is economics. They have a product. If you want it, you pay their price. If the price is too high, don't get it, or go somewhere else.

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!

I'm currently on the SERO 500 plan, but will soon be switching for the Hero. It was a good 2 year run on SERO, but have to give it up I guess.

The bright side is, if you call in to retentions, they should offer you the Everything Data 450 with a $20 recurring credit for the length of your contract, which would make it $49.99 instead of $69.99. There's a lengthy thread on the sprintusers.com SERO forums discussing plan changes.
