Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!
Technically it is possible to activate a Blackberry on a Sero plan. You have to change to Sero voice only and then add the Blackberry data plan; however, it would be a challenge to go back to the regular Sero plan if you decided you wanted to change from the Blackberry to something else.
I'm on a grandfathered plan too and plan to keep it as long as possible. Eventually Sprint will probably require more and more of their phones to be activated on one of their new plans but for now there are still enough compelling options available that I don't plan to switch. |

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!
okay so i was elgiable for an upgrade on 12/1. I call customer service to do it early, and they said i have to wait till 12/1. I was angry and called the cancellation department and he reversed my elgiablity and so i can upgrade. He told me to do it at best buy so i wouldnt have to do the mail in rebate and said I can keep my $30 sero plan. He said all they have to do is call it in. He told me he did an upgrade a week back and kept that customers $30 sero plan and told me not to worry about it. So i just have to wait until I get the money to upgrade and see if they will upgrade my phone and keep the same plan.

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!
thanks for the posts.. again, this was in regards to my little brother... i am very happy/very content with my plan.. i am not complaining (i have been with them for over 10 years too)
but this htc hero business is just lamo.. again, he doesn't care not being able to keep the hero, he just called me matter of fact, on his new htc touch pro 2 phone, with the sero plan.. all is well! again, it is just the fact that it is a new, popular phone, and they know they can get people out of the sero plans by stating that the hero is not compatible (which is crap).. they know that we are materialistic, greedy little buggers... just wait, soon they will put in fine print, no smart phone allowed on sero plan... your right siptang .. it is their service, their business.. they can do as they wish... rockandroll pj |

Re: HERO/sero: bunch of BS!
I'm currently on the SERO 500 plan, but will soon be switching for the Hero. It was a good 2 year run on SERO, but have to give it up I guess.
The bright side is, if you call in to retentions, they should offer you the Everything Data 450 with a $20 recurring credit for the length of your contract, which would make it $49.99 instead of $69.99. There's a lengthy thread on the sprintusers.com SERO forums discussing plan changes. |
