1. The Hero has a lock screen.
2. PDANet is available for Android. It has a one-time-only cost of $29. http://www.junefabrics.com/android/ 3. You can "Root" the phone and develop and install any applicatins you want. Quote:

From that link you are not pre-ordering the Hero, but registering to get early information about it.

Sprint's mail in rebates are only valid if you are eligible for all other rebates, so no. If you are paying full retail price there is no break.

Re: HTC Hero on its way to Sprint! Confirmed!
Hey guys. I'm not sure yet whether it will sync with tasks or not. One communication says Microsoft Outlook Integratation with E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar. And I have another one that states "compatibility and access to Outlook email with Microsoft Direct Push Technology." I want to assume that if it is fully compatible with Direct Push, then Tasks would come with it, but I won't know till I get my hands on mine. Which, should be a couple weeks prior to launch. I'll let you know as soon as I do!
Here is the other page of info (which by the way states Visual Voicemail for which I am SUPER STOKED. Now the Instinct isn't the only one!!): http://phx.corporate-ir.net/External...xUeXBlPTM=&t=1 |
This post has been thanked 3 times. |

this rep is obviously wrong because there are 2 instincts out if not 3 (not sure if the instinct hd dropped yet, i think the 8th also) and all of those phones you need an everything plan. The hero will not be able to be activated on sero, i'm positive. a quick search proves you have to have unlimited plan. haven't we all confirmed that the average sprint rep knows nothing. Just because you talk to him through chat, he is still just the same as calling in. Those reps know nothing of future plans for sprint, we know more through this website and others. http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/10491.html Last edited by p-slim; 09-06-2009 at 04:40 PM. |

Re: HTC Hero on its way to Sprint! Confirmed!
Going to agree with p on this one. The Hero, like the Pre and Instinct, will be limited to a normal consumer Everything Plan, Family Everything Data, OR an Everything Plus Data plan on the program that replaced SERO - The Everything Plus Referral Program.

Re: HTC Hero on its way to Sprint! Confirmed!
Totally disagree, it says right on the official sprint hero press release it requires an unlimited data plan, and then goes on to tout the everything plans. It does NOT say a everything plan is required. SERO will be included. You can campare the press releases from the instinct and Pre and note the different requirements yourself. THEY require everything plans, HERO will not, unless good ole sprint changes their stance. E
