I did Europe 1, and it downloaded in <10 minutes. Still a little slow for a 38.5 MB file, but much better than 3 hours!! I installed it, and I'm about to update my wife's Hero to 2.1.

Ok guys, whoever bit the bullet and downloaded the sprint release and lost root I did some research and Gbhil (the AWESOME DEV over at android central) might have something here. I didnt read the entire thread but I think he may have found a solution. I havent RUUd the sprint release Im waiting for a devs rom so i didnt read the entire thread but here ya go!!

I took the plunge... no issues here. Won't miss root... will only have the Hero for another two weeks. EVO will replace it and Hero will go on a shelf.

So I guess the main question is (from the guys running the latest Fresh) is was this Sprint ROM any better?
I know the fresh has a lot of BS that the Sprint ROMs have taken out (like the NFK and Sprint TV crap). I'm mainling asking because the wife wants to go to some form of 2.1 and if I can keep from rooting her phone it will save me 30 minutes. If Fresh is still the obvious choice then i'll just do it. |
