Technician got on the phone and says that sprint is only responsible for the first 30 days. After that it's HTCs responsibility to fix the phone under the 1 year warranty. What a load a crap.

Just don't tell them you bought it at best buy. I work for Radioshack and have never heard of anything like this before.

If you go into a corporate store they can tell that you didn't buy the phone from them. I bought my Moment from Best Buy, within two weeks it just stopped taking calls, data etc...So I went to a Sprint Corporate store to have it switched out within the 30 days, and all she did was look my account up and tell me since I bought it at a third party store I would have to take it to them for the swap. I even tried telling her I bought it from a different Sprint store at first lol. No big deal since Best Buy was actually great to deal with, but she did know I didn't buy it from an actual Sprint store.

I only think that was an issue though because it was within the 30 days, any other time I don't think they ever try and find that stuff out, if you have the insurance then you have it and they do what they do. I agree she had no way of knowing where I bought it, but she did know it wasn't from a Sprint store.

Just adding to this. I have had a Hero I activated at BB have screen issues. Only one. I swapped the phone before he left. Other than that, I have had not problems. DO NOT USE A 3RD PARTY CHARGER, that will cause problems.

^listen to this guy....and it's surprising you've never had issues with your Touch Pro OP, you've seemed to be experiencing Touch Pro fever with your Hero .

(and I love my old Touch Pro don't get me wrong, well I love both phones...just no problems with my Hero yet!)

Check your contract to see if you have TEP. If you do not and are within your 30 days have sprint add it. If you do not and you are past your 30 days raise hell and get them to insure it. Say that is shows it on your copy of the contract and you asked them to add it but you went into the store and they said you don't have it. Once it is on your account I think it is like 30 days...then call asurion or go to www.phoneclaim.com to process your insurance claim. As long as no physical or water damage is evident you should not be charged the deductable for replacement. Hope this info helps. You already have the number. And maybe I am partial... but only deal with one select representative at a Sprint store. That way they are your rep and you are their customer and if they are the right rep for you, they will have your back in any situation. Good luck!

Agreed, the TP was whack with its keyboard failures but it was a good phone when it worked!

He doesn't have insurance. He stated that earlier. This is a manufacturer defect and can be replaced as many times as the Sprint rep you are talking to wants to. Take it to the store like the rep said and they'll get you another one.

Not only did he already state that he does not have the TEP, there is a specific phrase for what you are instructing him to do.

Insurance Fraud.

The TEP, as you said, is handled by a third party, and you/sprint can be prosecuted for adding insurance after the 30 day mark and filing a claim fraudulently.

Any tips on cloning ESNs?
