I called Sprint today and actually got someone who knew what I was talking about for a change and she said Sprint won't tell any of them like its a big secret. I have a TP2 also and we all knew i think it was at least 2 weeks in advance for sure when the release date was. So I hope its April 16, but if not we have some pretty awesome cooks and rooting isn't all that difficult so I would definitely give it a try if your wanting something different and if anything its all a learning experience.

My friend work @ Sprint and she just got some type of booklet with all the upcoming trainings etc etc and she told me they start training for 2.1 monday 19 and according to her booklet the update will be release 2weeks after that.

lol i wish these threads would just die already. Enough of these damn rumor teases. We've all been fooled once by them...shame on us. Like hell I'm going to get sucked in and disappointed again...shame on all you damn rumor mills.

I was holding out on rooting my Hero but now I have lost all desire for the official release...next stop...nearest rooting walkthrough!

being that I have an unrooted hero, would it be best to wait for the official update? I heard you cant update a rooted phone...also, forgive my ignorance but what really, am I going to be gaining from either update (fresh or official) what things can they do that the stock hero can't right now...I know, I know ...noob, moob, call me whatever put can someone direct me to the answers to these questions?

You can update and re-root... pretty easy
