Hero 2.1 Release Date Speculation Thread!

This is an email that I just got from my Account Rep at Sprint


Last I heard was mid-April but I checked on Monday and there was nothing official yet. I am waiting on this too!

I will let know you when I hear something but there will likely be updates sent out too from the network.

at this point u can either root or wait , bottom line were waiting for a rom that will not give us EVERTHING that 2.1 offers (i know due to the proceser diffrence) so at this point i grow tierd of all the hopla,Here it is 4/9 & no maitnence , 2.1 ,,nothing so i'll just roll with the hero, & be lucky not all my apps have moved to 1.6 etc

This is from the same idiot blogger who posted last week that Sprint had officially released the 2.1 update for the Moment.

Sir I'm sure you are mistaken as I wouldn't comment on a "Moment" because I don't own or have access to one. Although you may not be speaking of me. If so I apologize. If this was pointed to me, I have never written anything that specified a date for the 2.1 upgrade, only given links to what others have written. I always tell the readers that this is a "rumor" or "we will see" As with any post you can choose to read, or choose not to. That would be the reader's prerogative.Also, if you intend on discouraging anyone from reading post that have possible information about 2.1 update, you'll have a lot of ground to cover as there are many.

Not you, genius, the blogger you linked to. He's the same fool who posted that Sprint has officially released the 2.1 update for the moment last Thursday.

He is clueless and is obviously making stuff up or reporting rumors (often misunderstood rumors) as fact.

You should ignore anything you have read there and never return to his page.

I called Sprint today and actually got someone who knew what I was talking about for a change and she said Sprint won't tell any of them like its a big secret. I have a TP2 also and we all knew i think it was at least 2 weeks in advance for sure when the release date was. So I hope its April 16, but if not we have some pretty awesome cooks and rooting isn't all that difficult so I would definitely give it a try if your wanting something different and if anything its all a learning experience.

My friend work @ Sprint and she just got some type of booklet with all the upcoming trainings etc etc and she told me they start training for 2.1 monday 19 and according to her booklet the update will be release 2weeks after that.
