Hero 2.1 Release Date Speculation Thread!

I actually photoshoped that a few weeks ago. On a more realistic note I wouldn't doubt if that was indeed fake and it ended up coming out June, July, or August. Like most people I could care less. The Devs on this forum and others have made 2.1 virtually bugless & with all the themes and customizations out there the sprint version won't be able to come close to what has already come out. What will you do when the official 2.1 comes out? Let me guess... Root it!! And then Flash something better? Well my friends, something better is already out. Actually a lot of roms are out either developed or customized by very intelligent people.

The only thing I care about in the official 2.1 rom is the .29 kernel that will allow Flipz, Toast, and crew to overclock our hero's while maintaining sense ui. Other than that, sprint/htc can keep their official 2.1 update.

I don't think it ever had a set in stone release date when all this speculation, he said, she said, my rep said stuff was going on.

This article is the first one to leave out the European version of the Hero. Previously, it was only related to the European, and didn't mention anything about the Sprint Hero/Verizon Eris. Granted, I'm rooted, and am enjoying 2.1 right now....But this is getting ridiculous. The Evo will be out before the hero gets 2.1. So this update will be used by 7 people across the Sprint network. We should bombard twitter with requests to know when the update will be out. Won't do much, but still....would be nice to get some answers.

WTF..meanwhile 2.1 is old news to google,now we gotta hear about how 2.2 is almost done got flash etc. now we gotta wit for the the almost old & at this point the only way some can get 2.1 is they flash a cook rom...this is total BS if it's so hard to port this rom.....how is it so easy for everyone else to port it .XDA gets busy at porting diffrent versions of this rom. Sprint is really killing me instead of updated ...there gonna advise the newer phone ,mind you no telling how much "4G" is gonna cost extra & who knows ...maybe they'll pull a VZW too & kill the N1 lauch altoghter. Sorry PPL ...this is stuff that grinds my gears!

Its all good guys. Sprint said Early Q2, so that means it will be out early Q2, the main problem is that we don't know what year that will be haha. This is the first time I have head Sprint give out a date and I expect they will try and make it by that date, if they don't people will get pissed. Probably why they don't do it in the first place, anyway, expect it by May 15.

Early Q2 ends on Friday at midnight, by the way. Mid Q2 is May. Late Q2 is June.

Technically, 1st half equals early and 2nd half equals late. I am just saying that Sprint probably will use that argument anyway. I am not trying to argue dates or even back Sprint, I am just saying that it should come out soon.

Damageless did say that after all the people complained and that person leaked his rom that it may have pushed the release date back.

Anyway, I am writing some dumb paper about Jeep and I have to focus haha, you can see just how focused I am... I just wanted to chime in and tell everyone not to get too upset because it will come in due time. I am hoping the drivers from 2.1 work in 2.2. Here's to 2.2d by Fresh!! Hahahaha
