Re: HERO 2.1 update confirmation ...finally

Being a 10 year vet of Sprint, and a 5 year vet of smartphones, I can tell you, they do tend to have "diarhea of the mouth". Hell, I'll believe it when it's in a ROM I can flash

and to quote a movie on the topic...
"Anyone else would have left you by now, but I'm sticking with you. And if I have to ride your @$$ like Zorro, you're gonna show me the money!"

I vote for waiting for good social networking. You might not have any friends, but the rest of us do

BTW, your list includes desktop clients, web clients, and phone clients for all mobile OSes.

My comment was about disputing the rife presence of SARCASM on this forum. Your previous post, Athlet1c, disagreed with my statement, which is why I typed my last comment, because I thought it was ridiculous to even engage in that dialogue.

It had nothing to do with whether or not anyone should believe the reference that the OP posted. I've been around longer than you know, and in IT over 16 years, so I know how updates and the rumor-mill go. I couldn't care less if it's true or not, like everyone else, I'll believe it when it is available to download on my phone.

HM I sense a bit of sarcasm in your statement. So yes the myth of rampant sarcasm might be true. I withdraw my prior statement due to my lack of experience. Honestly Im not going to play the My dad can be your dad thing. You might be right in all you say.

Can I end with Saying "I love you All Man"

In all actuality, there was no sarcasm in my last post. Nor was there any attempt at "my dad can beat your dad", as you say. But it's good to watch you bow out with dignity. =D>

Yes I need to humble my self. Its in Gods word to do so. And I also will apologize for any miscommunication. I studied my results and its not of me

Oh I have plenty of friends. Call me old fashion but I can always sms or IMAGINE this call them and use my human voice to see what they are up to. Sir I will agree to disagree with you. You can wait for integrated social support (if this is even what we are waiting for) and I'll take a Plain OPEN Android build and add what social apps I choose. In the end the more HTC adds to Android the more it gets locked down.

Re: HERO 2.1 update confirmation ...finally

Sprint came out and stated the update to 2.1 was going to be out "Early Q2". HTC is now coming out saying all Heros will be updated in March (late Q1). If Sprint is the one "testing" the software, how would HTC know when this will be released? Is Sprint really testing the software, or are they paying HTC to do it for them?

Sprint is not the only carrier in the world with Heroes.

HTC is releasing the 2.1 update for the international GSM version in March. Sprint is releasing it to their branded CDMA version in "early Q2."

Re: HERO 2.1 update confirmation ...finally

This is the quote from the article I'm referring to:

Quote:
Coming Next Month
HTC said this week that it will release the Android OS 2.1 upgrade for the HTC Hero at some point next month.
This promise includes all versions of the Hero, include the one offered by Verizon that has been re-branded the HTC Droid Eris.

I'm going with Sprint's estimate of early Q2, and will just assume the author used HTC's announcement about the GSM hero getting the upgrade in March as a blanket statement for all hero/eris models.
