This is definitely going to keep me from getting the EVO. 6 Months from now replace "hero" with "Evo" and "2.1" with "2.2" or whatever the next update is while everyone else is going to Android 2.5/3.0, Sprint customers who own and HTC phone will be sitting on the sidleines. Again.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice....

I'll pick up a 4.3 inch screen with a 1 ghz processor from aonther manufacturer and if that means another carrier, so be it, even if it means I have to wait out the summer.

Just sayin, i'd rather have an htc with 1.5 than a samsung with 2.1.

im not buying the evo anyways, i wanted the N1.

its not really sprint's fault its the fragmented nature of android's development, the base android os upgrades faster than htc, motorola, dell, and sony can develop their custom skins. sony's brand spanking new out for 2 weeks Xperia X10 is a hell of a piece of hardware but it launched on android 1.5 with a 2.1 upgrade promised for the end of the year, so all these skins that are nice but they're holding up development

Sprint customers who bought a Hero in October are sitting on the sidelines, yes.

Along with every other person everywhere in the world who ever bought an Android 1.x handset. Ever. That includes Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T customers. None of these carriers have released a 2.x update for a 1.x mobile.

Sprint have only publicly announced Q2 2010, anything beside Q2 2010 were always just rumors and leaks.

So how can Sprint be held accountable for rumors and leaks?

End of Q2 2010 = end of June. So they have not missed their publicly announced time frame "yet".

End of Q2 2010 = end of June. So they have not missed their publicly announced time frame "yet".
Sprint announced on twitter "Early Q2", and even confirmed that on twitter a handful of times (with their @SprintCare profile). But they have always said 1st half of 2010, so they are still on track.

Always have to be careful with that "Early" word..... What is early for Sprint is apparently not the same for me
