I am flashing to 1.0 right because I heard of some bugs in 1.1. When I tried 1.0, I did notice a speed increase. I just really wanted a phone that you didn't have to root and hack to get the most functionality out of...= ( Oh well....here's to flashing.....

I have always heard that it is good for your device to reset it once a day??? Am I wrong by doing this?

1.1 much better than 1.0 IMHO just have 2 uninstall and reinstall WiFi tether. Has HTC location removed to keep phone from going 2 100% and getting hot. There are phones u don't have 2 flash but w Android flashing is part of the fun, plus a better market.

Use app manager in astro file explorer. Uninstall WiFi tether. Then download 1.7 and install it.

Re: Help me keep my Hero.....

Okay so I too after owning my phone for 2 days am having major lagging issues, even after a soft reset.
I only have a few apps, Fresh rom 1.1, and none of them seem to cause issues for anyone else.

It seems that if I am on the phone, and I want to answer a txt I have to type super slow otherwise it does not register. If I am browsing the web using Dolphin, and a txt or phone call comes up it takes me a few taps for it to register and on top of that it even lags to the screens for txts and phone calls.
A new one that came up recently was me having to put in my security code more than once because the first time doesnt register.

It makes me want to install a task killer and start killing apps I dont want running, but then I go and read that it is not neccesary, but it seems that once I start using the phone and opening up apps is when it starts to slow down.

Is it something I am doing, or am I just expecting too much from the phone?

P.S. What is the issue with WiFi tether? and is 1.7 okay to run even when it is not a stable version?

Re: Help me keep my Hero.....

Well its not a super computer. There will always be lag on these types of devices. Trying to minimalize the lag is tricky. Get an app called spare parts and use the animations and transitions in the settings. It does help to speed up your device a little.
