Re: Who switched from TOUCH PRO 2 to EVO 4G??

I had the Motorola Q, TP and TP2 so I was windows mobile all the way. I unlocked and flashed ROMS on the TP's. I just got tired of the unstable nature of WM. When I initially switched over to the EVO there was a learning curve. I didn't like it at 1st. After a week of having it though it is sooooo much better than the TP2. Go for it and expect a transition period to learn Android. THen unlock it.

Re: Who switched from TOUCH PRO 2 to EVO 4G??

I've had my EVO for about 2.5 days now...I rooted it and loaded cyanogenmod stable 7.0.0 with android 2.3.3 (gingerbread) and I love it! Its so fast and the screen is magnificent! I could never go back...

Re: Who switched from TOUCH PRO 2 to EVO 4G??

Former TP2 owner with custom rom and fully tweaked. Now I am on EVO. I'll tell you what if I could have gotten windows mobile on the evo I would have. Android is great but its far from perfect. Its also not easy to tweak. Its not like windows mobile at all in terms of tweaking. What makes the EVO so much better is speed! and also google integration is awesome.

Re: Who switched from TOUCH PRO 2 to EVO 4G??

I made the switch the day the EVO was released and never regretted it for a day. WM is a dead OS at this point. Android is the future. Heck, even WP7 at least has life in it.

Might as well wait for the EVO 3D to be released most likely in June. It is going to be a beast but no doubt you need to come over to Android. The only question should be which Android device to get......

Re: Who switched from TOUCH PRO 2 to EVO 4G??

Windows is way more customizable. I'll give you an example, HTC sense on windows, xda folks came up with the cookie editor which let you edit every aspect of sense. Nothing like that exists for Android. You could edit the size of the clock animations etc levels etc. On windows you can also easily add a reg hack to see 5 to 6 rows of icons. Its silly to sit here at go over all the changed. Android is much more hard wired and more difficult to make mods to. Even if the phone is rooted. Simple thing like adding a battery icon with a number requires you to jump through a bunch of loop holes.

Other things off the top of my head, wifi tethering can be done with simple reg edits. On android if you are running stock you need to install software on the host pc.

Launcher Pro lets you easily change the amount or icon rows on your homescreen as well as the size of the icons! Adding icons/widgets is as simple as holding down on the screen and selecting the icon/widget you want there. Doesn't get any simpler.
