Re: 4G Won't Connect
Never did a restore, no. And I fear for my RSA keys, too, if I have to use my backup from when I first flashed to OMJ's 2.2 ROM. I followed the steps in the older videos posted at the bottom of http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/1793724-post1.html. From reviewing that video, it looks like I would have used the Run > c:\evo-recovery backup method for my first backup. I hate to admit it, but I'm having a hard time finding my backup from then. It's not on my SD card. I might have put it on my laptop, which my wife is using right now.
Again, went straight from release-day stock with no OTAs to one of the first versions of OMJ's 2.2 ROMs to OMJ's 2.2 v4.2 w/ Caulk's combo radio/wimax/pri update. So only 2 flashes (with clean, double wipes) and the combo update ever done on this phone. Last edited by jjbehren; 01-05-2011 at 12:07 AM. |

Mine is rooted Fresh Rom 3.5.01 and I even updated radio and PRI using his methods. When I tried this with Terminal Emulator, all I got was <rsa> </rsa> |

And as an update, I'm home with my son today and he's been running me all day. Haven't had time to work through those threads posted above. I will, though. |

Re: 4G Won't Connect
Maybe my first post was a little long, but I did state I've done all that. Got the last two lines so my hope everything is cool regarding my RSA keys. However, lkillen's post made me fear that even if I have the RSA keys they may be corrupt.
Again, what I know: MAC address is fine (matches with what's under my battery), RSA keys are there, running a wimax log returns the error in my first post. Thanks again for the help. |

Re: 4G Won't Connect
If the RSA keys are gone, you have to go to Sprint. There was a post about restoring RSA keys but it was bogus. They are encrypted and paired to your phone/profile.
You will need to get unrooted. Good luck.

Re: 4G Won't Connect
I had the same issue and posted on the OMJ thread many times but was always told to search elsewhere. I flashed back to an old stock ROM and ran all of the steps again to fully root my phone and it worked.

Re: 4G Won't Connect
You keep making me nervous lkillen.
![]() Are you suspecting there's something wrong with my RSA keys even though I get the: -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY----- I haven't run across that situation much in my research. |

Re: 4G Won't Connect
Yeah, I might have to go that route when all is said and done. Some pieces of my phone's history are coming together a little throughout this process. I flashed to OMJ's 2.2 v3.0 back in late August from a release-day EVO (HW v. 0002) with no OTAs. I used the c:\evo-recovery method to back up as soon as I rooted, prior to any flashing.
One of the things I'm working on right now is finding that recovery image from evo-recovery (I posted in the FastRX8's thread kingsfan linked to above, but no response yet). Once I flashed to OMJ's ROM I had ROM Manager with ClockworkMod. I've since switched to Amon RA for a backup method. However, I can't find recover that original pre-flashing image using either ClockworkMod or Amon RA. Anyone reading this thread know how I would recover to that original non Clockwork/Amon RA backup? Again, I'll work through the links in this thread later tonight when I get my son down to bed. Thanks for everyone's help. |
