I will follow the tutorial that was provided to get it rooted.
I'm too late. I was going to say Get an Epic with it's Superior GPU and better CPU, but see you already made the jump. OH Well, enjoy your new EVO, I hear it's an awesome phone as well!

Re: Thinking about getting an Evo, need advice.

Ha Ha... I get awesome battery life with my stock battery. I have almost no battery drain whatsoever for 10 hours on standby while unplugged from the charger overnight. I can go all day on a single charge with average moderate use. What's my secret? Azrael X 2.1 ROM. Absolutely. The fastest, smoothest, and best battery life of ANY rom out there! You must flash it and ffind out for yourself... or not but keep your charger close by. I'm a recovered flashaholic thanks to Azrael X 2.1!

Re: Thinking about getting an Evo, need advice.

here's some advice...get it! I would get it through wirelessmarketplus.com though..they have it for $149.99 not bad considering it's shipped for free, and they give you an 18% monthly discount on your bill. I have the discount #... PM me.

I agree with your choice of Rom. I am also running the Azrael 2.1 as well but i am using a 3500 extended battery from seidio instead of the stock battery. It's simply amazing. I don't even bring my charger with me to work anymore. I recommend the azrael rom and the 3500 mah battery from seidio.

Re: Thinking about getting an Evo, need advice.

I'm running Chris's Sprint Lovers ROM and it has been awesome. I use the 1500mah battery from Sprint as well as my other 2 from my TP2 days. The battery life certainly exceeded my expectations. Text, voice, data, 4g etc I still have great battery life by the end of the day. I can't believe I was on WinMo for so long.... I love this Android OS!!

Re: Thinking about getting an Evo, need advice.

good choice in rom Leerage. But when you feel more comfortable I highly recommend Azrael X 2.1 for hardware 0004 Evo's. The only thing you might want to do after flashing Azrael's rom is install some of the stock sprint apps if you choose to... I do. The battery life is MUCH better than other roms from my personal experience and you will love the new transission animations and the new gingerbread keyboard... not to mention it's super fast and smooth.

I'm glad you like your new EVO, I was sure you would. I know you must be loving the awesome web browsing experience compared to the TP2's Opera Mobile, which isn't bad itself, just lacking speed, responsiveness and full Adobe Flash.

So where's you happy dance bro???!!!

Re: Thinking about getting an Evo, need advice.

Does everything work on Azrael X 2.1? 3G, both cameras, etc.? Is that a Sense rom?

Any issues with the older form format phones (002)?

everything works quite well...

He has two different versions available. One for the 001-003 versions and one for the 004.
