Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
Wasn't there some talk, from HTC, about putting the new sense version on the Evo? If they haven't put that out already, maybe they will just kill two birds with one stone...Gingerbread, and the new sense version
Here's the link, although not sure why this would be on the HTC Spain twitter account: HTC Evo and Droid Incredible to receive new HTC Sense UI

Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
The new Sense should be on the Droid Incredible HD which has 2.2..so I dont see them waiting till 2.3 to release the new Sense UI...:/

Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
i remember when sprint had the htc ppc6600 and they said it would be upgradeable to evdo with a firmware update. It never came to be. I think Sprint will say we gave you 2.2 for free so if you want 2.3 then purchase a new headset or just jail break the device. I think sprint will say get a new device to make money off the full purchase price of the phone. I think its about time to stop discounted phones and contracts all together and sell the OS updates to cellphone users just like Microsoft does for the desktop.
After about one and half years i am back to a smart phone. I love the EVO I have the EVO: Baseband: 2.15.00.09.01 Build Number 3.29.651.5 cl252548 release-keys Software number: 3.29.651.5 This may have the updated Sense Ui as when i hit the home screen I get a bunch of smaller screens on the screen showing a preview of all the tabs if you will. There were some internal rumors about the Eco getting gingerbread back when we released the epic but there hasn't been any talk of it as of late. With that being said, not all sprint reps are mindless drones. I don't know about your stores reps but I do know mine is quit knowledgeable about the happenings in the ppc world. |

Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
The Sprint store I go to.. their reps are usually on it with this kind of stuff. One of the few stores ive been to here where they can actually help you with phone problems. As a matter of fact they usually call me to root their phones, flash roms etc etc and give me cas.....oops im saying too much lol.
