Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
50/50 that we will get it. Most times 1 major update is what current phones get. It is possible though that we may get gingerbread...only time will tell.

Possibly, but I doubt it.

Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
I'm hopeful. I guess it will depend on what sprint has in the pipeline. If there is an Evo 2, or Evo like device coming shortly after Gingerbread's release, I say no. But if we have to wait until June for another android super device from sprint, I say yes.
Also, if sprint starts waffling, with the number of Evos sold, if we pressure sprint enough, they just may do it. Either way, if you are rooted, Gingerbread will be on your Evo....

Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
I do not think Sprint will put Gingerbread on Evo. It had 2.1 on it at release. I do not ever remember a Smartphone getting two upgrades. But agree thet rooted Evo will have Gingerbread from other source.

Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
I would have to say yes, because the Evo is sprints flag ship as of now so if they come out with a lower grade model android fone with 3.0
they will most likely upgrade there top selling evo to 3.0 it could help sells

Re: Is the EVO getting Gingerbread?
Lets not forget that the Evo is still sold out in many places nationwide... And all the new ones are being shipped with Froyo 2.2, so to the new owners in the upcoming months, Gingerbread would be there 1st update... And as far as the Evo being Sprints flagship proprietor, I'd bet that any update released between now and the holidays will be Evo ready simply due to the fact that it's one of, if not the best phone out right now.. So to leave it outdated after only a few months of it's released wouldn't make any sense at all...
