Also keep in mind that fully draining a li-ion battery can potentially cause more harm than good, these aren't like older battieries that needed to be drain fully after each charge so it can work at its optimal performance.

Re: HTC Evo 4G - TERRIBLE BATTERY LIFE! HELP PLEASE!

I noted with my Evo that if 3G was weak, battery drain was noticable. Strong 3G and the battery barely drains.

A good reason to root would be to use apps like setcpu. While the screen is off, mine automatically goes down to 250mhz or so and while on, the program increases clock speed as needed. Rarely does my phone hit 1ghz.
While it is debatable, for me I do actually have a measurable difference in battery life. Good luck

totally true but its not only the 3g but signal strength in general. 4g drinks even more. I keep internet off until I need it. I love that widget. And while at home, I keep WiFi on as it takes way less power than 3g.

Re: HTC Evo 4G - TERRIBLE BATTERY LIFE! HELP PLEASE!

But, it's ridiculous, having 3G running in the background, and recieving a couple ebuddy alerts, text plus messages, and losing 10% of battery in 15 minutes (while its locked).. that's crazy. And I don't know how to root my phone.. I'm on 2.2.. don't think it's possible. Even when wifi+3g are disabled, I lose 2% in 20 minutes, doing NOTHING. Completely idle. I don't know if this is just my phone, but it's a huge issue -- especially for business users. When I recieve my chinese battery, I'll post results.
