##786# - MSL - Menu-Reset

It rebooted my phone for me and I just let it reboot.
Once it rebooted it did the update crap.
checked my phone info and it took it the second time I tried

jump into recovery and loaded some old rooted ROM from like months ago and it also showed 1.40

NAND restored my CM6 install.

So you dont lose root or nandroid doing this?

So far nothing. I'll be trying the battery pull method in a sec.

If you're stuck in a loop, pull the battery, then boot into bootloader, go to recovery, wipe, then restore a nandroid backup or flash a new rom.
I had the same issue. Just doing a wipe didn't fix it.

I wiped then let it do it's thing. when i saw it didnt work, i reflashed my recovery then reset again then blah blah

No I am running my trusty CM6 as we speak.

If you are rooted no need to change roms, if you have issues with ##786# it is the new epst in the rom,an it is best to have Ra recovery at default. Damn it says I didn't have a valid backup and the MD5 is missing. Have to flash an older backup. FML.
