Who's Going or gone back to 2.1 after trying 2.2? Am I all alone?

Well I am considering going back for
1) streaming slacker sounds like AM radio and fixes are known to break other stuff
2) streaming music used to play in conjunction with any other audio like turn by turn prompts as well as let me talk on BT while just turning down the volume on my car stereo manually
3) I could talk and surf web via wifi


I am tired of looking for fixes for what should just work stock, rooted or not...will try a few more roms 1st though as 2.1 supported stuff will be dying off.

I can talk on BT and surf the net on wifi so i dont have any connection issues. As far as the app problems, the developers are aware and making updates.

Actually the only reason I use 2.1 over 2.2 is for the free wifi router app over 4g. I couldn't get it working over 4g with 2.2. I could get wifi router working over 3G but I was slower

I'm switching back to 2.1 as well. I just can't deal with the compromises you need to make just to have froyo. I switched back to calkulin's 2.1 rom, which is the fastest room I've used so far.

I've tried a couple of different 2. 2 roms including calkulin's, but none have felt faster than 2.1. Benchmark-wise, froyo is a lot faster, but during real world usage, I feel that froyo is not ready yet. Our devs still need more time with it

i really dont like froyo at all but due to development, i kinda gotta stay with it.

I do not use Flash on my phone much, but I noticed with FroYo, battery life took a nose dive. So, back to 2.1 for me, at least for time being.

ok... so I wanted the speed, I bought the hype... I just dont see it.
1. Netarchys kernel is awesome but it breaks almost every camera (or camera based) app there is (not his fault, just sucks)
2. Pandora & Slacker sound like crap (I dont care who's fault it is with the aac codec, just fix it !)
3. It isnt mind-numbingly faster (not sure Ive noticed an increase)Even my PSX4DROID runs slower with the same settings.
4. Task killers dont work (I would rather have control over whats running and not trust the OS to do it)

Just not the right time for 2.2. Ill let others (smarter than me) work the bugs out and Ill be back.

I am on 2.2, trying different roms (can't say i have one that is perfect yet).. have not flashed much since my old TP (which you had to flash) the TP2 and EVO seem to be the only reason i am on roms is because i think having to pay $30 a month to tether is stupid... other than that, i think stock was running very well...

2.2 surfs much better (netarchy's did drag down really bad)
Love the rest... Swype, Notifications, security, everything seems to work "better"

Battery is about the same.. (terrible) but i get 6+ hours of heavy use and that is fine as i am not away from a charger for more than 5 hours anyway..

It is still a very young OS and i am giving it the chance to continue to grow... still better than WinMo which for as old as it was just was that old....

6 hours after going back to Caulkins Evio 2.1 rom and Im already smiling.
