I'll others be the test subjects and see Froyo in a month, lol! Pandora should work on 2.2 by then.
You really need Apps2sd? The Evo has plenty of memory, Apps2sd was made for Android phones with less on board memory, and don't even say it is a way to back up your apps, as there are other ways to do that. Oh and there is a speed increase, take a look at benchmarks with 2.1 vs 2.2 (sense versions), there is a difference. Not only that but you can tell it, I am betting you are doubting it so you simply just don't want to see the speed increases.

Test subjects? I love how paranoid people are, 2.2 is much better than 2.1, there are more people with no issues than there are people with issues. For example look at the poll on this thread, there are only 13% of users that are going back to 2.1. I would wager a guess that out of all the Evo owners only 4-5% are having issues with 2.2 and of those 4-5% I would guess that majority of them have apps or a task killer that is causing those issues.

If you are having issues with 2.2, do a hard reset (you will be doing this anyways if you go back to 2.1) and install apps one by one, I would bet that it is an application that you download that is causing most of your issues.

IF apps 2 sd wasnt important, why does 2.2 come standard with it? You know, since older phones cant run it. Annnnnnnnd, the onboard memory may be plenty for you, but i like apps, TONS of apps, this phone is a beast and meant to be used. And what, you dont think I tried a hard reset and one by one reinstall, r u serious? You are not talking to a rookie son, and yes, and yes, without being insulting, i will allow others to work out the kinks, and then reap the bennies. Thx.

Oh, and what do i care about benchmarks? Real world usage please!

Not having any issues with frozen yogurt. Definitely a keeper. I don't have a ton of apps installed though. Swype is slow except in the messaging app, I can live with that as I'll try an alternative soon. Otherwise I'm happy with froyo.

The second half of that post was in general, the apps2sd was directed at you, as by simply looking at your post count I can tell you are a bit more advanced. Probably should have used to quote better, that is my fault. But Apps2sd, I just simply cannot install that many apps, I install ones that I use and I guess I cannot justify as many as others. Also I am working great on 2.2, with no issues at all and great battery life, and that is stock HTC Sense 2.2.

I just find it baffling that there is a small percentage of users that are having these issues and others just simply are not having any issues. I still point to apps, chances are if you have a ton of apps not all of them are 2.2 compatible, sure they will install but they can cause issues.

Also, benchmarks may not be real world, but they do show that there is a performance increase regardless. Besides if you wanted pure performance increase you would install Non-Sense 2.2, as Sense truly does slow it down. Either way Sense or Non-Sense 2.2 is faster, the JIT compiler ensures that.

I am thinking of going back until the LockPicker app (or another with the same functionality) is available for 2.2. We'll see...maybe I'll get used to entering a PIN. I just don't like being forced to do so by Exchange on my personal phone.

I haven't bothered with the 2.2 update.

Re: Who's Going or gone back to 2.1 after trying 2.2? Am I all alone?

I agree that 99% of the reported "issues" are 3rd party apps or user inflicted. Been using 2.2 for quite some time including rooted stock release. Have not run across any "real" bugs or issues that would make me go back to 2.1.
