Re: Who really has an Evo?
I am surprised that so many of you are reporting places being on back order. Peoria IL has bunches of Evo's already sold and we are getting small numbers on a consistent basis. Still a waiting list but they are coming in and going out smooth.

Re: Who really has an Evo?
I have been through over 17 states so far this months and have run across hundreds of people that have the phone and yes I tell them all about ppcgeeks some of which had already heard and/or are members.

Re: Who really has an Evo?
No disrespect, but who cares?
Don't forget that sprint isn't as popular as it is on this forum. Verizon dominates the CDMA market, ATT dominates with the iphone, and tmobile/other carriers dominate with low budget users. sprint? they're just around. I think they're more for business users than anything else. The business users i know aren't interested in Android to be honest, at least not yet. So it's no surprise to me the EVO is backordered and they didn't have more on hand. I actually think they had plenty on hand for what it is. I didn't reserve mine, i just went to the store an hour and a half early and was near the front of the line (i live in a major city). They must've had 50+ boxes stacked that day. That's a lot of EVOs! It takes time to replenish supplies. The HD2 and Incredible are recent examples of not being able to stay in stock. The Touch Pro2 even had inventory problems for a hot second. Give it time, you'll eventually see one.

I find it odd how on the hottest phone of the summer is sold out everywhere an its taking them forever to get more of them out.. They really need to hurry an get the phone in stock before the Droid X an IP4 drop or some people may get tired of waiting for the EVO an jump ship to Verizon ot Apple... An to your comment about who cares.. clearly a lot of people who have Sprint cares because were tired of being laughed at when we try to get into a phone war with IPHONE users or Verizon users cuz we have crappy phones...I would like to walk around Cali an run into a lot of EVO people that just means more Qik and Fring Video chatters... Makes me feel good that i can see someone else with my phone an think thats a smart person there! |
