Wirelessly posted (Sprint HTC Evo : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/ERE27) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)
I own one and haven't yet encountered an individual that also does ... I had a tp2 for a really long time and never met another person with one till after I was already using my evo.

Re: Who really has an Evo?
I was travelling the last two weeks for work (Pittsburgh, PA and New Orleans, LA) and ran into at least half a dozen people using them at restaurants, stores, airports, etc. I also had at least a dozen people, when seeing mine, ask me if it was the new EVO from Sprint. Every sigle one of the people that asked me also told me that they either had one on back order or were waiting for a few weeks to buy one when their upgrade was available.

WTF were Sprint/HTC thinking hyping the ever-loving crap out of this thing and then claiming they were "surprised" that they sold so many? Way to shoot yourselves in the collective keyster Sprint/HTC. |

Re: Who really has an Evo?
This is pretty funny but now that I think of it, you're right. I am in New Orleans and I haven't seen one single person with it besides me. It has been that way with most of my phones except maybe the Hero, I definately saw a bunch of those. Everyone that I talk to is either trying to get an EVO or is stuck on the iPhone 4 wave. I don't know, I was using my EVO yesterday and I thought to myself, "man, this is an awesome phone, much better than any iPhone"

Re: Who really has an Evo?
Bottom line is sprint/htc dropped the ball YET again. They didnt even halfway meet the demand for this phone and have lost out on a ton of potential sales by not having them available. I know 3 people firsthand that wanted to get it but couldnt find one anywhere without sitting on a backorder list.. and since there will be plenty of iphones available tomorrow they opted to go that route. Sales could have been GREAT if they actually had units available, but come tomorrow a lot of those potential sales and opportunity to get people to change carriers will go out the door for many.
Add that to the fact that they did a piss poor job of advertising.. and they let what could have been a major turn around for Sprint go out the door once again. And im still curious as to how many units Sprint REALLY sold since they wont release any sales figures... |
