Re: battery sucks we all know . . . .

I get 4 -5 hours battery with constant use. I get 10 hours in paper weight mode. This isn't a total drain just down to were it starts bugging me. Now I did do the turn off and turn on tuning method and that helped a lot. Yesterday I was at 10 hours with moderate use. Phone mostly sat around but did surf a little and send a few messages.

hard reset last night. WOW @ the battery life today is all i will say. i generally hate seeing ppl say "hard reset" it gives me winmo nightmares but im at 85% now at 2 hours off the charger yesterday with very similar usage i was in the 40% area ... & i am using the phone quite a bit for browsing, texting & editing docs. i hope the fiddling with apps n then uninstalling them dont leave left over ish that causes the issues i cant keep hard resetting on a frequent basis lol. hope sum1 gets to the bottom of it
You shouldn't have to. A hard reset just basically makes it easy to clean everything out. Android has alot of tools available to help you figure out what is killing battery. The best tool is spare parts in the app catalog. It can show you what apps/processes are keeping your phone from sleeping aka partial awake.

Re: battery sucks we all know . . . .

I get about 5-6 hours with heavy use. Browsing, movies, snesoid, etc.. which im pretty happy with. Standby time has been amazing imo. Last night I pulled my phone off the charger with a 91% charge. This morning (8 hrs later) my phone was at 89%. So much better than my Touch Pro.
Ive done the usual battery tweaks, and "froze" a bunch of apps using Titanium Backup.

Re: battery sucks we all know . . . .

I've been getting great battery life once I turned off always on data and disabled most of the auto syncing stuff. I don't want push email so the only thing that I have auto-syncing is facebook contacts once a day. I'm also using the overclock widget, but I'm not convinced that it's actually helping because I didn't see the battery gains until I changed the always on and syncing settings. Oh, I also have ATK killing some of the third party bloatware automatically.

Re: battery sucks we all know . . . .

I have tried all the tricks in the other threads, battery charge, #* (network) removing all the heavy widgets (or tellling google voice to only update when i need it to)

And was getting around 4 hours of use.

I don't know which one worked.. (I really feel it was switching to TP2 battery and charging the battery in the cradle not in the phone) but now i am getting 8+ hours of USE... if i am in 4G around 6, this is a lot of surfing and texting (a lot of texting) .. Today i am back to using my TP2 for all my calls.. I am currently 6 hours from charge and at 42% left so i can live with the 8 hours of use as long as it stays there using it the way i want to...

Spare parts didn't show me the calendar was keeping it awake until I did a restart. But you swapping batteries should have caused that. Well I'm glad it's working now and you're seeing that this phone actually does get good battery life for a smartphone.

Re: battery sucks we all know . . . .

I am getting decent battery life. I went almost 40 hours between my last charge. BT and 3G always on and connected. Casual surfing. Hundred or so text per day and a bit of phone calls, at least an hour per day. I charge nightly like I did with my last phones, but I am making it all day.

Re: battery sucks we all know . . . .

I use my phone normally, and I easily make it 15 hours on a charge. But I'm not a power user. Like I mentioned in the other thread, I rarely use my phone on weekends, so it stays in standby most of the time, which was why I was able to get over 48 hours on a single charge. I may talk on the phone for about 30 min/day, send 30-50 texts/day, and do some web surfing. Mostly checking apps. But I do get better battery life on my Evo than I did with my Hero.

But if I used my phone all the time, I'd be like you guys, and keeping my phone on the charger.
