HTC Sync Issues

Searched first... Nothing mentioned about issues with the Evo.

I have installed the latest files from the HTC site with the drivers needed. Yet, the Evo doesn't find HTC Sync on my machine (Win XP SP3) and HTC Sync won't start on my PC saying"

"Unable to load configuration" in a pop-up dialog with an "Ok" button and that's it. Nothing is working on either side.

Yet, if I choose to mount the SD card as a drive, no worries on the PC side.

Help.

Same thing with mine. I installed HTC Sync and the phone cant locate it on my PC. Running vista

Thank you very much for saying that makes me feel like I'm not a complete idiot disconnecting and reconnecting the damn device and watching it spin looking and then big giant message saying "Next Steps".

Which HTC sync are you using? Check this by opening up you HTC Sync program on the PC then click help then select about. If you are using anything less then 2.0.35 your phone will not sync correctly.

This advice only works IF you can get the program to start. THAT is the problem we're all reporting the program doesn't start, so we can't go to Help > About. The best we can do is get the latest version from the HTC site, which from what I'm reading, is what we've done.

Well actually the problem for me is not that the program wont start....my program starts but it just wont sync...I know for a fact that I have the latest version bcuz I went to the htc site myself and downloaded and installed the new version..and I have Windows XP...its pretty obvious that its not our computers/laptops....becuz there are too many people with the same issuse...so that means that theres sumthing wrong the HTC Sync

i have the latest version of htc sync. and still cannot get it to connect on my pc running win7. when i choose the htc sync option on the phone, it says its searching for sync on the pc, but then after a few minutes, error says unable to find htc sync on your pc

So you have the 2.0.35 and it's still not working? I dunno whats wrong then. Sorry I couldn't help.

I also got the latest version specifically from the HTC site that is for the Evo. Yes, it's the 2.0.35 version. No help.

Maybe someone has an idea.
