Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

At least double idle battery life for me after this widget. Doesn't do a thing for usage drain but it's nice to know my phone is retaining it's juice when it's doing almost nothing.

Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

Wow, idle drain is definitely slow with this. I stand corrected. I'll only drain 1 or 2% in an hour if I keep the screen off. Nuts.

Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

Battery problems? Where?

EDIT: I got this using full root and setcpu 1.54 with screen profiles enabled.

EDIT 2: I could have waited a little more on this since the battery was sitting at about 20% at this point. So it would have run on well over 2 days... if I had turned off the BT also as well.

How much were you using your phone? just curious.

I'm no a battery samuri like you, but I have experienced ~15 hours, sometimes more, using a custom ROM. Before that it was ~8 hours. I am very happy with the custom and its power savings. I haven't been using OC or SetCPU as I've been comparing ROMs with another EVO user (Bugless vs. Damage). Maybe I could surpass 20 with CPU scaling added.

What I am still very confused about is: why have the experiences varied so widely? Several of my co-workers have EVOs. With identical settings, in the same building, with similar use, there is still a large variation. One guy has not pursued ANY tweaks at all, is using it out of the box with Gtalk active, etc. and gets 15-17 hours. I wouldn't bother with any tweaks if I was he either...

I didn't install the widget and it is only draining 1%/hour. I don't think the widget work at all.

Light to medium-light usage. See the SystemApp graph.

I used OC on mine... my battery went nuts draining even faster. I think that Battery Indicator seems to drain power fast too. I got a better result by using setCPU.

I am now trying DamageControl ROM and see how it works in terms of power w/o addons.

Try setCPU.
