Re: Need some help guys Root related

So I actually had the same problem this morning...exact same bs lines after unrevoked finished.

I suggest using rom manager to install roms. I went into most of this kinda blind, did enough research to feel uncomfortable. This helped me with rom manager: YouTube - SUPER EASY! Backup, Flash and Restore a Custom ROM (Android)

I still am curious though, can you flash roms if you're not fulling rooted? I was able to flash a rom but still don't really know if I am rooted...

The information that counts is the HBOOT version. You don't have that info there.
Check the first thing I wrote in Post #1. That will tell you how to find it and what you need to do once you find it.

Look at post #404 on this page:
[ROM] 12/05/10 | SPRINT LOVERS | 2.2 | 3.30.651.3 | Radio/Wimax/PRI All-In-One - Page 41 - xda-developers

Forgot about clockwork and ROM manager, too many issues, and doing it things through bootloader and recovery is more reliable and almost as easy

Re: Rooting and Flashing EVO Instructions for super n00b's on PC's

I got a message when i tried:

adb server is out of date. killing....
*deamon starts *** automatically...

Then the PC lost connection with EVO. I need to reboot PC(Win 7) to get it connected again.

What should i do?

Thanks!

*****Update: I followed the post here: try post #1197 in #3 and it worked!! I saw “ confirmation message that states the file size and transfer speed when the file is done being pushed.” in the post. So I ignored the error message and continued. And it worked out perfectly.

Now I tried 4G and WIFI, etc. It WORKS PERFECTLY!!

Thanks to FastRX8!!!

Re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

I tried flashing a 2.02 evo using unrevoked and no longer have recovery. i have a few evos and didnt know they had different hboot versions until i became frustrated that it wasnt working and did some searching around. The recovery fix zip thats posted doesnt work, when going into bootloader mode it shows pc36diag missing or not found. Is there another option to go back to stock ?

Re: Need some help guys Root related

what he said

and you want to switch to AMON_RA which basically renders Rom Manager useless.

Re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

OK, so I jacked my Evo up, trying to root. I had 2.2 on it when I bought it in October.
Tried to root it, and now I have 2.1
HBoot 0.79.0000
Radio 1.39.00.04.26
and when I did this, it was stuck in bootloader till I ran the image again.

I would like to just get it back to stock 2.2, any suggestions, my battery life is terrible now.

Re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

Plz 4give me I AM a noob. I have HBOOT V 2.02 ..here is my question.

Do I skip everything I see in the sticky and go straight to Section 7 and start there or do I still need to DL PC36IMG.zip and the other files mentioned early on?

I guess I'm confused on where to start. It looks like I am too skip all the way down to section 7 but????

Thanks
