Re: flash question...
You are mixing up old information.
sigh I wrote a long reply then clicked a side button and lost it all. For now, just a quick explination. People that just dont understand much, noobs, get too confused with terminalogy, but root is just simply superuser or administrator access to you os, in this case your phone. Some root methods only give temp access to write the nand.. Unrevoked3 had to be used in combination with newer unrevoked-forever to egt root and nand write permissions thru system/os. Unrevoked 3.21 now gives you both options. If you are coming in late to the root party you will have to pay attention to the dates on these postings, as its easy to get confused and mixed information. -CC

While in recovery, do all of your wipes then flash the Rom from the flash from zip menu. All should be good
Sent from my fast as hell phone that you can only wish you had

Re: "Newest" OTA & 2.2 Root Question
For those who may not know the OTA HTC update for the radio, PRI and fps unlock is available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=791019 Build would be upgraded from 3.26.651.5 to 3.29.651.5. Read instructions and requirements. As always no one is responsible for bricked phones. Last edited by havek; 10-03-2010 at 11:38 AM. |

re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe
cbenny,
Do you mean make your own private network or use someone else's? If you mean the first and have something like "wireless tether" which requires root you can set the security settings in the settings menu. If you mean use someone else's well the market has something called "penetrate". Use at ur own risk and even better with owners permission. |

Re: "Newest" OTA & 2.2 Root Question
I agree with achilles 100%. Rom manager not only makes ones life sooooo much easier it has many useful tools and options. It even has a "no ads" option that disables ads so no additional software is necessary.
