Re: To root, or not to root...
To root or not to root... there is no question.
Endless possibilities or wishing your EVO was as cool as mine. You can always go back...

re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe
If I wanted to flash a custom rom using the unrevoked root. do I need to do unrevoked 3 then unrevoked forever?
Or can I just do unrevoked 3?

Re: To root, or not to root...
I rooted just 'cause and then I decided to try Wireless Tether; I all ready had PDANet installed and have been happy with it. I now have both applications on the Evo and switch between the 2. So for me, it was not a big afterward deal. Draw backs? none other than there is just so much information on what is really an easy task.

Scared "rootless" to root my EVO : )
I am as green as green can get when it comes to these phones and it took me forever to have nerve enough to finally flash custom roms on my TP when I had it. Now I have an EVO with all of the updates, most recently the PRL was updated the other day (60671) and my PRI is 1.77_003, build 3.29.651.5. I have been reading and viewing all of this rooting, unrevoking, etc until my head is dizzy! Is this unrevoked3 as easy to do as it seems on the many videos I've viewed? I really want to try this but don't want to kill my phone. I understand the pros of rooting and if I can at least get over this hurdle, maybe I can get the nerve to start checking out some of the custom roms. Can unrevoked3 be safely executed on my phone? I've also read it may take several attempts....
concerned but eager! |

Re: Scared "rootless" to root my EVO : )
I rooted my Evo back in the command line days, but now with all the 1-click solutions, there is almost no reason to hesitate. Here's the one click rooting method for Unrevoked 3.21. Video in the link.
