you can get to recovery from vol down+power. but I use clockworkmod rom manager from the market

before anything i used titanium backup (from market) to backup all my stuff and use rom manger to 'backup current rom"

i then used rom manger to "flash clockworkmod recovery" from the app, then "reboot into recovery "

make sure you have these three files on storage card: rom/radio/wimax

once in recovery, wipe. meaning =>wipe data/factory rest; wipe cache; go to advance and wipe dalvik. then flash rom; reboot;

d'l clockwork rom manager again and repeat steps but then this time after wipe dance, flash radio, reboot. and repeat process again for wimax.

This is my first post!!! I'm new to Android coming from Windows Mobile (Touch Pro). I've been patiently waiting for FROYO to be released and rooted. I ran SimpleRoot this morning so I'm fully rooted with the following versions:

Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: 1.36.00.04.02
Kernel version: 2.6.29-ac94cf60, htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Build number: 1.17.651.1 CL160858 test-keys
Software number: 1.17.651.1
Browser version: WebKit 3.1
PRI Version: 1.34_003
PRL Version: 60662

I downloaded the "HTC-OTA-3.26.651.6-Final-Froyo-Rooted-Odexed-netarchy-signed.zip" file (also radio & wimax files) and want to flash this on my EVO, however being the NOOB that I am I'm not exactly sure how to do this. Do I rename these files one at a time to "update.zip" and power on holding the up volume key OR is there something else I need to do?

Can somebody help a "NOOB brotha" out?

Yes i also want to know how to do this, I put these on my SD card one at a time and nothing happen when im in the boot loader screen, i read and it say it should ask you if you want to update if you leave it alone after it reads the SD card, But nothing happens any steps for these files?

you need to boot into recovery and flash zip from sd.

1. power your phone off
2. power your phone on holding volume "down" button
3. let it scan your sd, then using down volume button scroll to recovery, press power button
4. scroll down to wipe, selct wipe cache press power do that twice, scroll down to davlik cach press power do that twice.
5. press power button to return to previous menu and selct flash zip from sd, then select the netarchy zip and press power
6. then press power to reboot after the file flashes

that should be it.

Oh yeah and OP you might want to update your prl...it is at 60669 now

I Need some help Geekers. I have a brand New Evo that I'm trying to root for a friend but when I go into recovery mode i'm getting a " Main version is older!" " Update Fail" Message when It begins to read the pc36imp.zip

My personal phone is rooted and I'm reading the tutorial but can't get it to work on the new evo which does have the new 2.2 on it.

CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB

Is "wipe cache" the same as "CLEAR STORAGE"? Also, should I update the PRL first?
