Pretty sure that was just a UE (User Error). Other's are saying it works fine.

If Calkulin or toastcfh say something is rooted and works fine on the EVO, you can pretty much take that to the bank.

would you mind sharing the steps. I tried to go through the xda site and am getting totally confused as far as which files are necessary.
Would you mind posting the links and steps here. I updated today over the air and just tried to root the phone but the get the errors mentioned above.

Hmm, I am confused now. I installed Calkulin's rooted update and I show the SU icon but get $ when in shell. I must have missed a step somewhere but I am not sure where.

Your answer is 5 posts back from yours, unfortunately your SOL until someone develops a root method from the new OTA forward. You could try as Fast suggests, to flash the original stock ROM -pre any OTA's and go from there.

Same boat Bruddah, we gotta start over from scratch.

The $ means we lost it.

Fast made a great point, just chill and a full radio update will probably be out in a day or two.

I'll race ya back to full root!

Did you try to restore something after using Calkulin's file?
If you didn't restore something, good, you shouldn't.
Just redo the Rooting Part I & II again, you should be fine.
