Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

I don't have the blue tooth on but I do have everythiong else. I talked for over and still had 80 percent when done. I have real bad battery time withthe Mogul stock battery but once I replaced it with a battery from Battery's Plus, I went from 3 hours to 3 days.

I am not too concerned and am just going to wait for a after market battery like I had for the Mogul.

Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

This is mainly why I dont understand how folks are having such a hard time with the battery... i've been off the charger for a little over 4 hours... 16 texts and 2 calls... email sync'd every 30 minutes.

I think I'll randomly check the 2 batteries between the 2 devices and see if there's a consistent discrepancy.
Switching the battery between devices won't really tell you anything about the battery overall because they both pull electrical current at different rates in each of the devices. If the EVO is hypothetically pulling 500mA the expectant battery life is 15% based on that power draw. Plugging the battery into the TP2 the power draw might be hypothetically 300mA and based on that power draw the battery has 40% power left for that device.

Now I completely made up the power draw levels for each device as I have no idea what each device actually pulls per hour, but it's obvious that the EVO is going to pull more power than the TP2 given its specs so the example given should explain why each device shows different battery levels.

Hope this helps...

Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

I can EASILY get a full 18 hours out of my phone with...

10 sub 5 minute phone calls a day.
5-6 10+ minute phone calls a day
100+ text (including MMS) sent and recieved.
Frequent stock and weather updates. (every hour)
Play on facebook for 20 min or so.
Check many emails a day.
And web surf for 30 min or so.

I come off a turned off phone charge in the morning (7:30am) and put it back on charge with 20-15% remaining (11:00 pm)

The battery life really isn't that bad. No wrose than my Hero....

I went from Saturday morning to Sunday night without charging the phone at all, still had 20% remaining, though I didn't use it much.

Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

If you guys get weak 3G signal in your house or at work, turn on wi-fi. With wi-fi on, the phone will not constantly use the 3G radio to search for a signal. When you are on the go, turn the wi-fi off and turn the mobile network on once again.

I have noticed this helped me considerably with battery life.

Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

My battery is excellent too. I watch about 40 min of shows that i put on my phone on the train ride to and from work. I also use the internet sporadically throughout the day, 50+ texts, emails, weather, and a live wallpaper and it has been lasting me 15 hours until it gets to 5%.

However I have been noticing people's battery stats are pretty well distributed. I noticed mine heavily weighted to android system. It is currently at 92% and I haven't used my phone for about 40 min. Is this normal?
