Re: People ditching iphones for the Evo
Indeed but it is very interesting to see how many people has been waiting for a good device that is not made by apple. I saw 2 people ditching iphones for EVOs while I was waiting.

Re: People ditching iphones for the Evo
Hopefully this will put Sprint back on the map again. They haven't been relevant in a long time.
They certainly have a headstart with 4G and the Evo is definitely a good device. But let's see how much momentum they can get before Verizon's LTE catches up. |

Re: People ditching iphones for the Evo
Imo, the Evo will serve as an adrenaline shot for Sprint. If it weren't for this phone, I believe Sprint would be DEAD.
I won't say its their only hope, but their best shot at staying relevant would be to drop one monster device after another -- keep people interested and keep them spending money. Because for so many of us, the Evo will be old news by the time we see 4G. |

I understand the concept of "victory" here (but victory in the phone wars is temporary and fleeting, though iPhone never wins). But this victory would have a cost - do you want the overloaded network AT&Tnow has to be Sprint? I don't. And I don't think "fanboys", whether for Apple, or any other phone, are on the right track. All these phones end up in the junk-heap pretty soon. If you're 20 or so, that may not click, but as the years tick by, it starts to ring true. I not only can't remamber all the cell phones I've had in almost 25 years, I can't even remember all the cars and trucks I've had in 35+ years. This is all just a diversion from reality. |

Re: People ditching iphones for the Evo
It is also possible the people figured to try the EVO due to 30 day policy and once the new iphone comes out they return the EVO and go back to using iphones...
See..EVO may be a powerful device but question is the adaptation of the user.... most users don't even know what they can do with their phones..and many more just buy one cause its cool and don't even use any features other then calling..

Re: People ditching iphones for the Evo
Yeah, and crowd up our network. Why do we want those goofballs here, sure, if they come on their own, on bended knees, fine, but why try to attract them? Let them stay with their lousy service, and Apple slave-dom.
