BUT Sprint.com's $100 rebate is Mail-in, which you won't get if you do not activate the phone!

From the rebate form:
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CUSTOMERS

I've been refreshing my browser every few minutes for over an hour. I just hope my Cart still has what I selected and lets me put the order through!

It just shows how fragile the whole system is compared to the old days. I walked into McDonalds one day just as the power went off, and they wouldn't sell me anything even though they had a pile ready to go. I asked what they would do with them, and they said throw them away if the power didn't come back up soon. I offered them well over the cost and the tax, but no go. The world is getting dumber and dumber, and more dependant on things that aren't all that dependable.

at least with radioshack we still have our manual tickets from the 80s but very few know how to use them or what to do with them when the power comes back on

I'm aware that I "should" not be able to activate the phone on my plan when I get it, but not sure how Sprint would see this. Would they add the $10 fee to my current plan. I don't think they can force me to switch plans, although they can refuse to activate the phone. Still getting the phone for $199, so they can't Take Back the $100 instant rebate. Worst case scenario is I get a NEW Evo for $230 and extend my plan 2 years.

Maybe someone on here is brave enough to pull the trigger with a SERO or other Plan before this option goes away on their site!
I had/am having the same weird experience (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=123556). I'm still on SERO and everyone I talk to says, sure, you're on SERO but I'm getting the Evo in a few days with a $100 MIR and for a price of $199. And, no one is telling me I have to upgrade to EPRP.

Very weird.

Well I am a business customer so I get the rebate instantly but moot point. What are you gonna do with a unactivated EVO other than sell it on eBay?

I shall wave my magic wand and it will suddenly become activated. Actually it's a little more technical than that and involves hooking a cable from the phone to the PC, etc..
