Bestbuy.com EVO order with old plan Working!!

1 Attachment(s)
Ok, so I just went to bestbuy.com and added an EVO to my cart. I selected "keep current plan," ( I have a non-everything 450/min plan with $15 data add-on. Then I had to add the $10 EVO fee.

I'm aware that I "should" not be able to activate the phone on my plan when I get it, but not sure how Sprint would see this. Would they add the $10 fee to my current plan. I don't think they can force me to switch plans, although they can refuse to activate the phone. Still getting the phone for $199, so they can't Take Back the $100 instant rebate. Worst case scenario is I get a NEW Evo for $230 and extend my plan 2 years.

Maybe someone on here is brave enough to pull the trigger with a SERO or other Plan before this option goes away on their site!

Yea...Sprint site is screwed up too. They must be slammed with people buying this thing.

they're probably going to be calling you in the next day or so to let you choose your new plan or cancel the order

I just don't understand why I would need the $10 a month 4G Data Package when they don't even have 4G where I live.

because even though we all know what the charge is for sprint says its not. its basically a smartphone rate hike and they're going to force you to pay it

which is also why i'm saying you'll get a call. i've seen this on other phones through radioshack's online system with att smartphones. a website can't cover every contingency so you tell it what you want best fit then the people on the other side figure it out. which is why i'm saying they'll call, they'll probably go ahead and try and activate and when sprint says no, they'll call and see what you wanna do

I tried on my wife's out-of-contract SERO account, and it all seemed to be going through, then came a page that said Online Ordering is Temporarily Unavailable. The whole system must be overloaded lol

Sprint.com let's you do the same thing. I ordered the phone last night using one of my other lines that is a Business 200 line for 30 bucks with no Data Plan. When I did that a window opened and said something along the lines of... In order to activate this phone you will have to change or add things to your plan and then gave me a list of things I would have to add

Well, my wife is out of contract, and the total price with shipping is $254 from Best Buy, so if they won't let us activate it, after selling it to us under the choice "Keep Existing Plan", I think the phone is ours. Unfortunately, the whole system is jammed, and we couldn't get the order completed yet.
