If they are only getting up to 30, and they are all pre-orders, how much chaos can we be talking about here? Sounds like a bunch of hype-jazz to me

I pre-ordered mine on the 14th. They said that they had only taken a few preorders before mine. I called today to see when they would start calling people to schedule their pick up. I was told that they should have the phone about a week before the release, (not sure about that,) and that once they had the phones they would start scheduling appointments for the 4th to pick them up. Appointments will be set according to the order in which the preorders were done. My big question is: How do they know. My preorder form does not have a date that the preorder was made, which number of preorder I was, etc.... I may have to stop by and ask some questions....

It didn't? My pre order form had a nice fat DATE line, in which I put the date.

say they get 30 and have 2 computers running activations and each takes 30 min. that is 4 per hour or 7.5 hours only for evos and no other business or activation issues. some stores have WAY more than that. if i let all my preorders in at once, there would be much choas as well as more than 8 hour wait.... can't really say much more than that, but we will be booked from early morning to late night...

best buy is still taking preorders to guarantee one on the 9th.

I think best buy messed up my pre-order...

I went to best buy on the 14th of may (this is proven on my receipt)

but on the paper they stapled to it that has a pic of the phone along with my name address and phone number it says pre order date 6/4/2010 this is the day the phone comes out. I thought maybe just maybe the girl was supposed to put the date of my order on there instead of the release date so I called my cousin who also pre ordered at best buy and his says 5/18/2010 (the date he pre ordered his on)

Will this be a problem? Any suggestions? I think im gonna go up there tomorrow show it to a manager and get some clarification!

Is Best Buy going to open early for the Evo? I already pre-orderd mine and just found out that I have a mandatory meeting at work starting at 9am... It sucks because i live across the street from a Best Buy, literally.

Does anybody have any idea when a "2nd shipment" would be coming in? In all my infinite wisdom (feel the sarcasm?) I waited until today to preorder. I asked when the 2nd shipment would be coming in and they looked at me like I asked them to explain the theory of relativity in japanese or something. I heard anywhere from a few days to month. Any ideas?
