Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???

My point was simply this, and Please correct me if I'm wrong, it may help me decide to spend more money just to use an Android phone. As far as I know there are no features that you get with an Everything 450 plan that would be required for an Android phone to operate, that I do not currently get on my 450 min voice plan($39.99) with Unlimited data plan($15)! So Why should I have to pay more to use an Android phone. Last edited by gullzway; 05-11-2010 at 08:02 PM. |

Let me ask you a question. If you go out and buy a New 6 Core PC with all the latest and greatest and Your Internet provider tells you it's gonna cost you $20/month more for internet service because you have a better Computer now, You would be perfectly fine with That? |

You missed the point, they didn't upgrade the internet. It's the same, just better hardware. Which you bought, don't forget many people don't get their phones from the Carrier. They use Ebay, craigslist etc.

Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???
how is it just better hardware when you're getting 4g? Sprint isn't charging for 4g so they just spent billions of dollars for no reason? its the samething when they went from 1 to evdo and evdo rev a, no charge. Sprint definitely wants and needs to recoupe the money and there are a couple of ways to do it. One way would be to charge for it directly, another way would be to put anybody who wants a new age device into a new age plan. its up to them and yes it is fair. the fact that you think your 10 year old plan should work with a new age phone is honestly unfathomable to me and completely over my head. I don't see your point at all and i didn't miss the point.

Since Sprint is making the rules on this phone, as they are offering a discount on the phone for the service, they can require you to upgrade your plan. We don't have to like it, but until the wireless networks change their games, we must abide by their rules.

Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???
Wrong. There are plenty of CDMA carriers that will activate 3rd party phones. Sprint may be the only ones selling it, but the law says they have to unlock it if your account is in good standing, and there are plenty of carriers that will activate it.

Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???
plenty of carriers like metro will activate it, but do you want their services? this is the point i'm trying to make to gullzway. if sprint came to you and forced you to change your current plan with your current phone that would be wrong, but requiring a certain plan for certain phones, there is nothing wrong with that because its up to you to decide if you want that phone or not.
