Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???
You missed the point, they didn't upgrade the internet. It's the same, just better hardware. Which you bought, don't forget many people don't get their phones from the Carrier. They use Ebay, craigslist etc.

Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???
how is it just better hardware when you're getting 4g? Sprint isn't charging for 4g so they just spent billions of dollars for no reason? its the samething when they went from 1 to evdo and evdo rev a, no charge. Sprint definitely wants and needs to recoupe the money and there are a couple of ways to do it. One way would be to charge for it directly, another way would be to put anybody who wants a new age device into a new age plan. its up to them and yes it is fair. the fact that you think your 10 year old plan should work with a new age phone is honestly unfathomable to me and completely over my head. I don't see your point at all and i didn't miss the point.

Also as i explained they aren't physically charging for 4g either so some people are getting a free upgrade, it goes hand in hand since sprint is the supplier for the phone and service. Not to mention as i stated before there was no price increase from 1x to evdo if you already had pic mail, so sprint just forked out $ there and gave free upgrades. the price/plan increase isn't only for 4g, its for supporting sprints whole network. |

My plan is STILL available on Sprint, I just checked. 450 talk plan with $15 data plan. However these are no longer compatible with many phones including the touch pro2. Hmmmm , my Touch Pro2 works just fine on the Plan! How do you explain that? |

Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???
Its not whether your phone still works or not, I think you are missing the point, its not like its because of technical limitations. If sprint wanted to allow sero users to activate evo's on sero accounts then they can do that if they wanted to. If they wanted you to use the evo on your current account type or any other account type then that wouldn't be a problem if thats what they wanted. The bottom line is sprint cant force you to change your current plan but what they can do is offer a new kick ass product but the only way to get that new kick ass product is to sign up for a new plan, its called a business model and a very good one at that when you consider how great the evo will probably be. Its not like sprint is flipping the switch on all tp2's so that they can't work on the network any more now forcing you to get a newer phone with a newer plan, I am sure you will be able to use your tp2 for as looooong as you want on your current plan, right? Also, its not like sprint is the only cell phone provider in the country and they hold a monopoly forcing whatever they wanted down your throat, you have a choice, if you have a problem with it then go to tmobile, go to att, or go to verizon. Its like me buying a new car, it does all the same things as my current car does but it looks better and it does it faster and if i want to take that new car home I have to agree to the new terms and if I dont agree to those terms I can go to another dealership or I can just keep the car I have. But the bottom line is eventually you gonna have to pay to play.

Since Sprint is making the rules on this phone, as they are offering a discount on the phone for the service, they can require you to upgrade your plan. We don't have to like it, but until the wireless networks change their games, we must abide by their rules.
