THEREFORE there really is NO POINT to have the Diamond involved, doing WiFi, since you are already around a WiFi hotspot... duh, duh... |

Re: Internet is Expensive
seeing as how $10/mo *was* Sprint's standard pricing for unlimited data about 5 years ago, that might have something to do with it... I might be more amazed if you had Sprint's Wireless Web on your account ($5/mo + airtime minutes, gave you QNC 14kbs)...

Re: Internet is Expensive
the diamond gets hot using any application for extended periods of time. I use Sprint Navigation alot and it gets warm, i have it mounted to one of my AC vents in the car to cool it off.
Monkey, just because WiFi is available, doesnt mean its free. |

Re: Internet is Expensive
OK I did some experimenting last night. For basic web surfing & torrent downloads it did better than I thought it would. I went to NBC.com to try watching streaming video & that does not work so well. It would freeze & skip a lot. For me that's not a deal breaker since I download most of the shows I want to watch any way.

Re: Internet is Expensive
it wasn't me that suggested moving next to Starbucks as a 'solution'... makes more sense to scope out free wifi when you're touring with your realtor, to find a place with neighbors you can mooch from ...

Re: Internet is Expensive
I had the same $10 data (before I jumped to SERO)... but you'll remember that it wasn't many years back that Sprint first implemented MO-SMS, before that they had Shortmail. And their Picturemail is very recent and still funky....

Re: Internet is Expensive
Internet Sharing is too slow for me. Fine for browsing, but not downloading and streaming. However, Sprint's new 4G (wimax) network could do the trick. But currently there are no phones slated to be 4G compatible, only aircards and modems. Basically Sprint will be entering the ISP market as a new competitor with their 4G (up to 12mbps network)
