Re: Internet is Expensive

I have used my phone for internet a few times when our internet was being flaky, thanks Brighthouse LOL! It was decent if I let one page load at a time, but I like to open like 5 tabs at ounce and that wasn't really an option I just choose the Internet option when my phone activesyncs to the pc, is that what yall do?

Re: Internet is Expensive

so just to get this straight, its better to use DATA option rather then Phone as modem when you just have unlimited data in your plan?

Re: Internet is Expensive

I finally got it to work. I had to turn off my wireless card in my laptop and let it get set up. I am on this site plus using utorrent downloading at 133Kbps. Not to bad for a phone LOL. I think this could actually work for me. I always have the phone with me when I am on my laptop.

Violent31601 under internet sharing the network connection shows as phone as modem on mine.

No joke. That is what wmwifirouter is for. Duhh...LMAO

It allows your WiFi phone to broadcast it's data signal as WiFi. DuH! (I got 2 duhs! LOL)

Anyways, maybe the heating issue I read about is gone. Like I said, never used the program. I always plug in my USB and be done with it, lol! The proggy idea is sweet though if you don't like cords.

Re: Internet is Expensive

I just turned my wireless off on laptop & let software do the rest. I'm not sure if it used data or not. How do I tell?

You can roughly tell your data by logging into your Sprint account online. May not be instant.

Also, if you're using DATA or PAM, you don't need the wireless on your Laptop on at all. If you're using a custom ROM, just plug in your USB and an option for Internet should come up. If you are using a Stock ROM, then go to the Internet Sharing program (or setting?) on your PPC.

Re: Internet is Expensive

Sprint's 4G is very fast, but you have to have the right phone to get it

Re: Internet is Expensive

I still don't know how I did it, but have been paying 10.00/month for my unlimited data for the last 5 years...scared to change plans and loose it!
