I know this is true of GSM with Edge vs 3G, but I never really tried it much with Sprint.

My brother-in-law's Diamond is lucky to last through a day (mostly text messaging).
i recently made the switch from evdo to 1x, because at work it was constantly switching, after i went with 1x it has last me at least close to 6 hours....

and another tweak that i have is with the "diamond tweak" that disconnect the data at requested time.... that has also save me a lot of juice

Re: Poll: How Long Does Your Battery Last?

I'm up in Canada in vacation, banff, jasper, yoho, cell phone coverage is the pits! Worst battery usage ever! I do find setting 1x helps, so does roaming only, but still drains like no other! best to just leave it off!

Re: Poll: How Long Does Your Battery Last?

I think the trick to keeping the phone alive is to have the screen turn off as quickly as possible. One thing I did recently and it helped my battery life was using a screen locking program (S2U2) that works well with your screen settings and have it turn off the screen within a minute.

Re: Poll: How Long Does Your Battery Last?

1 ) Less than 12h if I listen to music/watching movies/just doing stuff with it..
2 ) 1.93.413.3 SVE
3 ) Like everything you can do in Diamond TF3D Config and Advanced Configuration Tool including enabling every "power management" in the tool too.
4 ) Less than 1.
5 ) Depends, 1-2 excluding listening to music.
6 ) Not much at all, check my mail when I'm not at home and have to check it.
7 ) Not much, all disabled right now.
8 ) No.

I will probably get my 1800 mAh battery today since the 900 mAh clearly isn't enough.

Yeah you're on GSM so it may be slightly different.

Re: Poll: How Long Does Your Battery Last?

Wow, is the Diamond eating so much battery really? I got my 1800 mAh today and I charged it for about 7 hours before I turned on my phone. It went down to 97 almost instantly and it's just going down and down and down.. Maybe it's because it's new and everything and I have to charge it few times before it reaches it's full capacity, but wow, HTC gotta do something about this. My Sony Ericsson w800i got a 900 mAh battery and I can listen to music on it for 48 hours straight or more without the battery dying. Sad HTC, sad.

Find a way to kill Opera9. If I were you go to XDA and download a custom ROM for your phone.

1 ) How long does your battery last? It was 4 hours when I got it 3 days ago while it was idle, since the changes have had almost 6 hours

2 ) Which ROM are you running? Stock 2.00.651.7

3 ) What tweaks have you done besides what came with your ROM? regedit pollinterval, diamond TF3D for thems and using some DiamondTweak

4 ) How many text messages do you approximately receive a day? 17

5 ) How many minutes on the phone do you spend on the average each day? 15-60

6 ) How many data related activities do you do? Include how frequent you check e-mail. not sure on this phone, i think i did maybe 30min

7 ) Do you use bluetooth or wi-fi a lot and how much? bt yes 4 houres but then it need charge, wi-fi tried it for about 10 min

8 ) Do you have any practical suggestions not already mentioned? Keep looking, read alot.... this is a new phone i got friday as a upgrade, they told me at the store that the battery was bad but come on 4 houres of it just laying there doing nothing, for half the time i had bt and i made about a 10 min call before i was warning me.... but since the regedit i made 3 calles maybe 30 min total and it seem to last almost 6 houres... i will trying to run it all the way down then charging it as i did notice it never stays at 100% and doing this a few time and i will keep looking for regedites something has to give... i will need to work sone or latter and this phone will have to work for atleast 9-10 houres... i hope i get it there or it will have to go back
