Re: Radios and Best Locations (A Great List of 47 Cities Listed!!!)

Irvine, CA (92612):

Sprint 1.11.00f
-85dbm -15db (worse all around)
-heat: hotter than verizon but could be similar

Verizon 1.03.03v -78dbm -10db
-high: -82dbm -13db
-low: -74dbm -7db
-avg: -77dbm -11db
-heat: noticeably hotter than Telus

Telus 1.04.05v
-high: -80dbm -12db
-low: -73dbm -8db
-avg: -76dbm -10db
-heat: coolest running, noticeable throughout long term usage

*Signal/noise (lower the better) recorded under weather loop
*Heat subjectively observed after 30 min of video streaming (different times of the day)

Whittier, CA (90604) - did not write down the numbers, but by comparison under same tests it was similar: Telus > Verizon > Sprint

Central Florida, Telus has been working great for me. Sticking with it since it works great.

1. Telus

3. Sprint (I'll admit this is certainly better than the original Radio, but it is NOT up to snuff compared to the Telus Radio.
Hmm, Im in buffalo also... and am thinking about switching to the Telus Radio.. Just dont really want to hard reset again...

All you guys that have flashed a new radio and restored a backup with spb backup did your device information screen reflect the radio change after the restore..?

Re: Radios and Best Locations (A Great List of 48 Cities Listed!!!)

I am using a Diamond on Cricket service. I have found that the verizon radio 1.03.03v is best in my area of Jackonville, Arkansas.

Stock...1.00.00F - Good call quality, spotty web connection and hot
Telus ...1.04.05v - Good call quality, spotty web connection, drop call, very cool.
Sprint...1.11.00F - Good call quality, Fast web connection, drop calls, mild heat
Raphael ..1.03.15F- Good call quality, Good web connection, signal drop between 1x and evo
VZW...1.03.03v - Good call quality, Good stable web connection but not as fast as 1.11.00F. Stable signal, mild heat.

Now remember...I am on cricket in Jacksonville, Arkansas and the 1.03.03v works best for me.

Re: Radios and Best Locations (A Great List of 48 Cities Listed!!!)

Atlanta, GA here... The Sprint Radio 1.11.00F has worked for me best - best signal, less battery heat. Telus second - signal not as good by 1-2 bars... Data seemed to work the same for both.

With the Telus and Sprint radio posted on the first page HERE, it will not initiate a hard reset after the flash, they are modified.

Re: Radios and Best Locations (A Great List of 48 Cities Listed!!!)

I live in Soutwest Florida and I have found that the Sprint radio 1.1100F has worked best for me. No dropped calls good battery life, and quick internet speeds.

Re: Radios and Best Locations (A Great List of 48 Cities Listed!!!)

Here in Austin, Texas it's been a toss up between Telus and Sprint 1.11 00f.
Telus seems to be a bit better. Verizon was not so good.

Edit: Finally decided on Sprint as the better radio as it gives me EVDO in places where Telus only gives me 1X.
